I'm looking for advice on tables that are available in Australia, suitable for a school environment.

Specific criteria:

1) They have to be fast to set up and put away.

2) Storage depth has to be minimal. The tables are in a shared gym and need to be stored as close to the wall as possible. I'm thinking something close to or less than a 500mm storage depth (both halves together, including base) - ~600mm is probably too much. At the moment the school has three old Double Fish tables that have two wheels mounted directly to the middle edge of each separate table half, and they store really flat. They're just cumbersome to move around and the wheels tend to break off. The school also has one "modern" two-piece wheeled folding table which has supporting struts that went the wrong way and broke, leading to non-horizontal table halves (see 3)).

3) The unfolding & storage mechanism has to be robust. I've seen lots of tables where the locking pegs stop lining up or where the leg braces fold the wrong way and break.

4) 19-25mm thickness for durability. I wouldn't rule out a non-wood outdoor table despite the bounce - this isn't for high level competition.

5) Ideally not too far off $500ish.

I'd be having a look at affordablett.com.au Some Radak stuff might suit what you are after. I think that 19-25mm is overkill. Mine is 18mm and is fine, a little slow but beginners won't know the different. With thicker top generally comes with thicker and more robust everything which also might take more room.
