Hi guys, I've taken a 6 year hiatus from TT and now officially rediscovering EJ  .

I've taken some tips from old timers and experimented with gluing short pips to former inverted sponges. From recent (cheapy) experiments, an 802 topsheet glued to AK47 Blue sponge yielded the fastest short pips I've encountered to date (easily 20-30% higher than the latest TSP Spinpips red at max on an equal height drop). BTW this was attached to a slightly slower blade for comparison as well (Xiom Stradivarius has 11.9% higher bare wood frequency than Adidas Strike Wood 7 if you believe those kind of measurements).

Do any of you partake on a regular basis? If so, what's the fastest combination you've come up with? Preferably soft/semi-soft sponges.

Thanks

TAKE TO INTERNET FOR AN ANSWER...

Hugo Calderano, top player of Brazil, is admittedly equiped with the best catapultive blade/rubber combination to produce enormous ball speed.
You're sure to find out mach more about Calderano's current weapon from internet.

a tensor type short pip should be a lot faster,my mate hits some bullets with Tango Ultra on b/h of balsacarbo x5 and importantly has very good touch and control in the short game.
