Somebody told me my setup idea was stupid, and I asked why? Response was, "it just is Lou."
I twiddle too, so that would make it even better.

Would not say it was stupid, but unusual for sure.

Out of curiosity, what's the deal with 'Excelsior!' at the end of every single post (and there are a lot of them today)? Are we talking Harry Potter here?

Stan Lee. And the sheer number of posts designed to court minor controversy makes me stop here.

Why would this be strange? It's sort of like a non-conforming hardbat. Usually people use two different rubbers for the contrast between the two. Which is why you usually use inverted with long pips. The only person I remember who uses long pips/short pips was that Huang guy in China. But his long pips were the expanded sort.

Naah. That called blocker hitter setup. My friend (or mentor) using this setup, He is an LP Hitter.

And no setup deserve the word strange either, except self declared.

For example,

LKT Stranger :P

Stan Lee is correct. Just excited to be here, and have a lot of questions. Are posts limited? Sorry if I have put too many.

Thanks Iskandar, that makes sense. I guess that would be a lot different than most. Appreciate the feedback.

Actually, come to think of it.. that Huang guy plays penhold, and he twiddles. So it's quite different from this same setup on a shakehands blade.

Ha! This is interesting. I had a browser tab opened to the forum on tabletennisdaily.com. Haven't looked at it in maybe a couple weeks. I remember posting something there about why I disagreed with putting counterweights on the end of the handle. Today I came across that tab and when I refreshed it, it seems I've been banned!!!! "You have been banned for the following reason: No reason was specified. Date the ban will be lifted: Never".

Ah well, I never visit there anyways. Maybe I offended someone by mentioning cheap equipment or something.

Never heard of a twiddling penholder. Played a guy from Portsmouth that could use a Chinese penhold grip with a backhand, pretty devastating. That wasn't nice of them to ban you for that.

I used to be a twiddling penholder, and I can still be if I care to be. I have a few Cpen blades with pips on one side, but I have done it less and less over the years and almost never now that I prefer to play Jpen more than Cpen. I used short pips though, so not a lot of deception, just a bit of a change. And they are all OX.

That's weird... That forum is decently moderated, and I actually don't remember any recent controversies there either (not that you would instigate one). Sounds like an error or some sort of a bug.

Posts are not limited, but it usually looks weird and raises some alarms when someone suddenly opens a LOT of threads with seemingly unrelated questions.

Good forum practice (IMHO) usually involves:

Introducing yourself, e.g. here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=431

Telling a bit more why you are posing a question: context matters. This will help folks answer your query better.

There is a decent chance your question has been asked many times before. So, use search function and find topics where it was previously discussed. Post follow up there if you feel answers are lacking. This way you don't have a bunch of redundant threads.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Iskandar. Re: TTD: Perhaps you had the tab opened when they went through recent overhaul of their forum security and other things, which happened quite recently, and something weird happened. Clearing the cache should help. I am sure there was no real intent behind it.

PS. there is nothing on the site that suggests you have actually been banned.
