Hello,
I used to play alot as a kid, but that was 30yrs ago.
Started back up 2 months ago with a Palio Expert 2 star, rubbers are cj8000.
Rubbers are starting to lift off so i'm looking for a new kit.
From research i believe i'd like an all wood for feel, probably a slowish rubber for technique.
I'm not sure if i need to go for a fancy blade, i've been considering Yasaka Sweden Extra, Classic or Silver All wood.
Or Appelgren, tibhar stratus etc.
Been seeing some cheap options from aliexpress or aecheng
So i am wondering where I can find a bargain on those branded bats or bargains on decent alternatives.
I saw 728 has a 5 ply wood with hinoki outer for example, is that a good way to spend my limited dollars?

Sanwei M8 is a 5 ply all wood. Not carbon.

+1 for the M8 ....

Another option is the Friendship (729) - C5 ... I literally, just ordered one, from AliExpress .. @ $8.12 less $2 (AliExpress Anniversary discount) it falls into my What the heck budget...

If you tried the Yasaka Sweden Extra and you liked it then go for the Yinhe (Galaxy) W-6. It will cost you 18~20 USD from aliexpress.

Why not just keep the Palio blade and put new rubber on it? That’s how I started out.

The rubber it comes with is Palio CJ8000 Biotech 36-38 degree hardness with 2.0 mm sponge. You can buy it from eacheng.net or aliexpress.

I can understand if you want faster rubber (or harder/thicker sponge), but is there really a need to buy a new blade? (It peels off easy, they don’t use permanent glue like with most other premade bats)

A few reasons.
I'm not sure what the construction is.
I had the rubber pealing after 5hrs use so I stuck it back down in those spots, might have damaged blade.
I will buy a new fh rubber and glue and try to replace that one side so I have a spare.

If you do remove the rubbers from your Palio blade and the top veneers are undamaged, then to glue new rubbers with water based glue don't forget to seal the blade first. Most premades do not have sealed blades.

I have decided to get a Yasaka Sweden Extra
I tried to get the M8 but aliexpress kept stuffing up my coupons, asking me to login from other device and weird stuff so I gave up on that. Found YSE on sale at tt11 and that is the bat I was trying to simulate so that's the go for me.
tt11 doesn't have cheap chine rubber so i've decided on donic coppa, prob on fh and bh, in a straight handle both at 2.1mm. Only last consideration is possibly putting xiom vega intro on one side.
thanks to all posters, you guys helped alot.

 I mean, really. Does it matter all that much, if it plays and feels well?

This isn't the fault of the blade, nor would gluing it back damage the blade (unless you used superglue or epoxy or formica countertop cement, in which case removing those parts of the rubber will then damage the blade).

If you're going to re-rubber the blade I would suggest varnishing the surface once you've pulled the rubber off, and using Elmer's Rubber Cement to glue the new rubber on. If you're not going to be subject to VOC testing there's no reason for (and many reasons against) using water-based table tennis glue.

Yes they do.

It's cheaper from AliExpress, but hey... I'd say PF4 would be the equivalent of 729 Batwings... There's also 888:

https://www.tabletennis11.com/other_eng/dhs-g888

If nothing else, it's..... lucky. (The other cheap ones all seem to be pips-out.. C7 and the like.)

If you want EXPENSIVE Chinese rubber with magical blue sponge... (I find it amusing that H3 National has found it's way to TT11...)

There are other reasons, didn't offer the full version. There are many other reasons Isk. Two more are that I am 44yo and I love sport and am enthusiastic about reclaiming a fav sport from my childhood. I like research and I like knowing what I am using so equipment is important too, yse will not be worse. Another big reason is I have no spare. A friend asked if I wanted to join, so I bought a premade that was in AU stock. I will get ak47 blue and red and have an all palio spare.
Thx for the blade prep advice.

Ahh a trip down memory lane...

G888 is awesome stuff. Hurriance 2 precursor, even harder and tackier than the old 999's. I used to roll that penhold single sided with Persson Powerplay.

I'm picking up one just to feel it again  .

Donic Coppa is less than twice the price of that pf4, $31.50 AUD is a low cost rubber.
I don't think many people would choose pf4 in that case, so I'm not really sure why you bring it up since you clearly know that china is a better outlet for chinese rubber than india. Are you just disecting my post?

DHS TG2 Neo and G-888 is how I developed a very strong and long-lasting TENNIS ELBOW / GOLF ELBOW !

 Chinese rubbers from DHS /Yinhe tend to be SuperWeight ... Better to get CJ8000 ( Spin variant ).

AK47 I think colleague of mine ordered ... blue version ? and the HK1997 Gold ??? some crazy name like that ... both CJ8000 , AK47 , HKGold not durable ... and it was VERY Tacky !

First time I saw a Tacky CJ8000
