I read this somewhere on the net awhile back but forgot where I got it from. Think it was DTTW.

The rubber shrinks quite a bit, I believe. I think someone here already experienced that and Butterfly Online has a disclaimer about it in the description. Their description reads "PowerSponge rubbers are designed so that the continual application of speed glue is not necessary. Therefore, a PowerSponge rubber should not be removed from the original blade it was applied to as the rubber will shrink several millimeters in size. Once the rubber shrinks it loses tension and will not perform as intended."

Sounds awfully familiar to super primed rush jobs. In other words seems like butterfly just superprimed rubbers and cleaned the glue off. Maybe they soaked the rubbers in something similar to EE.

but if Butterfly treated the EE like material into the sponge, the over all size would now shrink after the removal from the blade..

IMHO...

Yes that's exactly what they say... I reckon you're right LawOCG.... Not sure how the Co2 bags help here.. there must something else in the solution.

Perhaps herein lies the answer to our problem about how to remove traces of toxic solvents from our normal glues etc. If the effect is prolonged in CO2, perhaps if we all glue our rubbers on with normal glue after treating them and then place them in some pure Nitrogen, they will expunge their volatile elements quicker? :P

I'll be the first. Does anyone have any extra Nitrogen just laying around for just such an occasion? Preferrably refrigerated.
