It's Holiday here in the US so I have plenty of time so I look at my first post here, this forum, to see how much I change. I played better from 1st to last video but the big thing is in Equipment review. Now I think that it is a tricky thing. It's the result of what I feel, not necessary what it is. Here's what I think in quick version......have to go see movie in 10 mins.

1. I read my razor old review and I had to change it.
2. My review of HM Aurora blade - when I reviewed it, I played with players at my level and I can chop everything back and somehow needed my chop to be faster to pressure my opp. Now I play with better players, 2250 - 2400 US rating, I can't chop consistently enough and now it's too fast for me. As I never had any REAL slow or DEF blade, I really had no idea what's fast and what's slow. Recently tried BTY Retreiver+FL3 of a friend and it was MUCH slower than my Aurora+P1-R hard chinese sponge. No wonder why he had no problem chopping very fast balls.
3. My early review of mine about P1-R(I was using Destroyer OX) was like " too fast and hard to keep balls low and !@#$%^ ". Now I can't go back to Destroyer OX anymore.
4. Recently, use Violin+388D1 0.5 mm and surprised that this set up was slow enough, but not super slow, to play at 2200 level and I had special feeling of "violin grab top spun balls and add huge under spin back" kind of feeling when playing with it.
5. 1.5 year ago, I bought Hurricane classic 2, maybe from here via Ebay, and love it. Great feeling and I can control height of pushing and looping better that any blade at that time. I didn't use it as primary blade and kept search for a better one....why? I bought it at $20......players at my club'd laugh if they knew I used a $20-blade. Should have seen He, Shi wen(Spanish-chinese) blade!!!!!
6. My recent review of FL3 vs P1-R. FL3 can produce much more spin over the table but now I'm not sure if it a softer sponge or the sheet that make them different.

I don't know what the summary should be....I'll put it this way.....be careful when reading other players review. There are many factors that can change results such as

1. Style - I'd never review Razor at the first place. It's not my thing.
2. Level and style of practice partners. Everything's good VS lower players. The REAL result will come VS better players.
3. Experience of reviewers. Don't believe when someone say "this's the best blade I've ever tried' but when asked "how many blade have you tried?". The answer is like 2 or 3 or in my case, Aurora is the only one designed to play defensive. Firewall plus speed is kind of ALL - ALL+, not defensive.
4. Price or perspective. Never imagine to use Violin to chop until vioncello came out and I didn't even tried until I ruined my main set up. I didn't stick to $20 blade that I liked coz it was too cheap.

What do you think?

Some very good points bogeyhunter!

Still even though you would change some of the reviews now that you've got more experience, A REVIEW is always better than NO REVIEW.

I guess it's always best to read a few reviews, not just one if they are available.

Yes the Hurricane classic 2 is a very nice blade... for $20 you got a huge bargain!

Hi BH, 2 Questions-

* Which side of the HM Aurora blade is too fast now?
* What don't you like about Destroyer OX that you couldn't go back to it? Play at the table, or away from the table?

1. BH side which is DEF side. Much faster than BTY retreiver.
2. Mainly is the OX thing. I can't generate enough underspin at the table to force a weak attack. I have example of playing the same opp using different set up in the same day.....actually, I was stupid. I hadn't practice with OX for a while and believe than a little more blocking would help me win easier against a young lady, junior national team. After a lost, I turned to my P1-R and no problem...score was 3,2,5.

Open Qualification R-rr-1 Lan, Janice (1953) -5,4,12,-5,6(lost 2-3 with Des OX)
U-2150 Rr-se-semis Lan, Janice (1953) 3,2,5(Won 3-0 with P1-R)
