how do u know the glue is dry when the glass plate is ontop of it?

When you can lift the glass off the rubber without the rubber sticking to it, then it is dry. It might be slightly sticky, so sometimes you might have to peel the glass off, but you should be able to see through the glass if any of the glue is still wet.

Note: It takes long for the glue to dry using the glass method, and depending on the air temperature where you are, it might take 10-20min.

@ speedplay/priior: With the press I try not to tighten it too tight, just enough to keep the rubber and blade in contact all the time while drying. So yes, just using one book to press it should be enough. And 2 bits of wood and 4 screws is all you really need to make a good press, just make sure you have something (like a plastic cover sheet or plastic wrap) covering the rubber surface when you put it into the press so that the wood doesn't do any damage to the rubber surface :)

They say it could detach the topsheet from the sponge in the earlier posts.
