Hi,

I have decided to buy a Jpen blade for fun and other reasons (certainly to have an idea of the feeling - and also because blades are very good looking!!!).
I have read a few topics but I still miss some explanation.
First of all, what is RPB? Well I will answer: it should have something to do with the backhand (2nd rubber on the blade?).
Can we have 2 rubbers on the blade (linked to 1st question)? Why doesn't everybody have 2?
About the grip: fingers curved or straight? What are the advantages/disavantadges of each?

So far no other questions but some might come to mind later.

Thanks for answering me.

Bye from a country where you have 99.99% chance of not using a J-pen.

RPB - Reverse Penhold Backhand. As you answered, it means using 2nd rubber at the buttom of your bat to return for your backhand strokes.

Yes, you can have 2 rubbers on any bat irregardless of penhold or shakehand or what-ever hold as long one is black and one is red.
Whether to use 2 rubbers or not is really up to the each individual. I'm using a single sided Jpen because its much lighter that way and jpen aren't really suited for rpb due to the nature of the cork.

About the grip, your last 3 fingers at the bottom of your bat should be curled. But still, just find a grip which you're comfortable with :).

Actually, for a jpen straight or curled doesn't matter. As long as it's not fanned.

Thanks for your answers.
i have another question: I saw that there are some twiddling blades. i am not sure about the exact meaning. Does it means that you can change the side/rubber that you want as your forehand rubber like it is done with shakehands players having i.e. one off rubber and one long pimples one?

Twiddling blades are blades that can be flipped around. In a Shakehand case, you are using the red rubber for your forehand. With a quick flip using your fingers, you can switch sides and use the black rubber for your forehand.

ITs quite challenging for penhold to twiddle I feel. Never tried to do it as I can't imagine how.

It was 100% before you started using one. ;)

Blade: Donic Persson Power Play
FH: Donic Bluestorm Z3
BH: Tibhar Aurus Soft
I have seen a few J-Pen players have a blade that is shaved out near the grip that allows some fast half twiddle that lets the J-Pen player make a normal BH stroke using their alternate surface, usually OX D.Tecs LP. There are some C-Pen gents that have modifications to the handle that make it more J-Pen like and some of them twiddle. The good ones are trouble with a capital T.

Please tell us what kind of J-pen you have got (brand and type).
When glueing the (second) rubber on the backhand side, you have to make the curving cork straight.
