I've noticed that there's actually a raystorm camp and an 802-40 camp. This suggests to me that they're not really interchangeable.

That might be so. I'm putting in all (reasonable  ) suggestions here, and we're not after a list of interchangable substitutions, just a list if potential substitutes within the same range of characteristics.

I think Hexer+ and Roxon 450 are both reasonable substitutes for T64.

and hammond is interchangeable with bryce" i think almana is too along w/ express one (at least all of them are high speed, med spin, lowish throw)

havent heard that hexer equals T05

feint soft is equivalent to any tacky long pip with a thick 25 degree sponge

and JOOLA express one is comparable with bryce speed.

I have updated the list up this point.

We've got a pretty decent list now, but there's still quite a few gaping holes.

I think some of the items can probably be deleted off the list as well, as they are nothing special and hardly anyone uses them.

Are there any similar rubber to Sriver G2 or G3? I've never even seen these rubber, nor so I know anyone that uses them, but I've wondered if they are basically a faster version of Sriver?

Sun = T25 dont think so..

sun maybe soft, but it has fairly low spin. Sun is all about the speed + the pips on the rubber a huge.. wouldnt it be more T64?
T25 has very large pips and is firm and very fast. Has anyone here tried both T25 and Sun to verify this claim? I'd surely like to find a more economical replacement to T25.

I have used both as my primary rubber and this was not my finding. T64 is much faster than Blitz and has a very different ball path, the T64 being suited for off the table play while Blitz is better suited for BH or FH near the table play. T64 is also more consistent than Blitz. Both shrink after cutting; Blitz more.

I would have thought that the Mark V rubber was much more better than Sriver... I mean seriously... Sriver...? Pfffttt...

Galaxy Moon is not a good replacement for T05, it has much lower throw, so the technique and the angles are completely different. Galaxy MercuryII 37deg is much closer in throw and spin.

Also, Xiom Vega Pro is close to T05.

Sanwei T88-I is very similar to T05 in throw, spin and power. A very good substitute. However it is very heavy (60-65 grams cut).

Well T05 is very heavy too ;)

Where I've always felt most CHinese rubbers are different, is that they have much less catapult effect. Tuned Chinese rubbers come closer but there are still not quite there.

Has anyone compared Galaxy Moon to Tenergy 25?

I just tested Sanwei T88-I on one side and Tenergy 05 on the other side of a Stiga Offensive Wood NCT. It turns out T88-I has equal or slightly higher throw, has more spin, and is slightly faster. However T05 has more gears, and is a few grams lighter. Haggisv, why haven't you updated the list with T88-I? This rubber can be a life changer for someone who is dependent on T05.
