I've been watching some matches of Liu lately and today I watched the one against Jang Song Man from the 2008 Beijing Olympics. I don't know when he signed for Joola but in this match I'm 100% sure that he's using a Matsushita Pro blade and the pips are definitely not Joola Octopus, it actually looks like a Hallmark pip.

his fh is very explosive!
He pushes alot of his opponents off the table with it... I wish my footwork was as good as his. Any updates of his equipment or videos is appreciated :) ;)

Interesting how many uses Whale (I got the same info from Lars Borg at Japsko who visited WTTC and he said most chinese players uses whale or DHS NEO on FH and Tenergy on BH). When I tested Whale it felt heavy and dead, but perhaps it is better for asian loop style. Perhaps I should try it again :?:

Leatherback, please update first post in this thread.

Yes, it's more suited for "chinese" loop with a "long swing".
It doesn't fit the eruopean style or "soft" looping.
It's pretty good for "full throttle".
Don't try it again, if you don't play like this!

Best regards
Benny

The announcer seems to have no clue that Liu Song plays with an OX disruption LP and whet the effect is. Hopefully they will post the entire video.

Isn't the announcer that irritating "ooh ah" guy? Btw, Liu Song made it to the final and is playing against Chuang.

Liu Song will play Chuang Chih-Yuen in the final of the ITTF tournament later today. Pretty big achievement for an OX LP player.

Yes, John Burgess. He is the guy the ITTF is doing a contest to replace.
