There might be a lot more to this situation. From what I heard, Tibhar was supposedly proactively working with the ITTF to resolve the situation. So I wonder what kind of solution was reached? Did the ITTF knowingly allow Tibhar to change the spec of their rubber, or maybe look the other way as the spec was being "corrected?"

TTMaster certainly wasn't given this kind of consideration. Of course, they weren't an ITTF sponsor either.

Any way you look at it, it was the players ultimately getting the shaft, as usual.

That would most likely be because they changed the Tibhar Dtecs (made the pimples shorter), while denying to customers worldwide that they had made a change. If you search you will no doubt find a few discussion on this.
