Just saw this rubber on OAOKT, sounds great.

Anybody use it, what is like.

I suspect not many have used it since I belive it's fairly new. I've only tried it in 0.6mm (I guess you saw my review), and I was going to try and pull the sponge off to see how it worked in OX...

How did you find it, like Guiltotine ?

I have heard much about this manufacture how do they rate?

Did you even get around to de sponging my Guillotine?

Gregg

Pips are harder/more rigid but quite insensitive to spin. Against slower and no-spin balls the softer and grippy long pips are better, but against hard loops it was great. It generated less spin compared to guillitine, but is also less sensitive. The sponges is less lively on the Mo.

Avalox rates very highly on blades and has a real good reputation here, but they are relatively unknown for rubbers. Since there are few distributors, most players don't have access to the stuff. The Avalox Sterco is certainly a very nice rubber which i have tried as well, soft, fast and quite spinny.

I sent your Guillotine back to Shoebox9, who was going to de-sponge it...

Well I could resist it I had to get one to try, I stuck it on my new Juic Euro Chopper to try it out tonight. As the Euro is bigger than my FW+ I could reuse it on that if I loved it big. I got a 0.6 black version

Well it is very grey in colour like a DR N Boomerang I once own and hated. The pips are grippy and flex well, not as grippy or are bendy as Guillotine ( but what is IMHO ). It curled like a sod once I glues it but it stuck down fine.

First hit very slow I normally play 1.5 to 2 meters back then go back from there, no way I had to be over the table to any any hits on and it took great effort to get the ball over at all. It felt just like Stiga destroyer, not much spin generation until you rally about 4 shots each ( too many at a top level you will get killed before that ) It block really well not matter how much the opposition hits or spins. And it keep short on block returns not so good at chop block you ahve to be too active to surprise the opposition.

In summery this could be a great replacement to frictionless LP it play like one in blocking and you can attack at bit, well back from the table no chance to put pressure on the opposition but if you stay in a block and hit a bit you will love this low cost rubber.

BTW it arrived again really fast from Alex about 4 days from Aus to NZ, great service again. I also got for some friends some Falco booster and speed glue and a AVX smooth rubber to try I will report back once he have tried them

Gregg

PS That is one blade and one rubber I have tried and hated and gone back to my old setup, when will I ever learn not to be an EJ.

Thanks for the feedback!

Well even if you didn't like, you've probably learned something, and appreciate your own setup so much more

Yeah but Greggy think of all the extra things us other EJ sods would have to try if you didn't try them for us and share the burden. :D Consider it your civic (forum) duty.

I have some sheets in stock for both Ox and 0.5 mm sponge thickness.

This rubber is quite good for chopping far from the table. Good control and you can make variation (heavy back spin - no spin) by yourself.

Good to hear. Fadil said this is the closest rubber to Super Block once it is broken in and the friction is reduced. We'll see.
