Hello, I managed to play with a Ma Lin carbon blade with infinity 011 long pips and rakza 7 soft I absolutely loved it. But I would like a bit more control and flex when both chopping and looping, any suggestions? (I am thinking of using rakza 7 soft and a grippy lp)

Not long ago you were a very consistent looper - what happened to that?

@carbonman: I dont like my backhand loop very much, it's consistent, but it was really weak. But chopping actually is quite natural with long pips as I recently discovered :D but I think Im going to take up twiddling too if needed :P

@deva: which one has a good loop potential with rakza 7 soft? but I also would like a blade with a little more power maybe ALL- to ALL

then again, I really have no idea :headbang:

i should also mention I would like the blade to be about standard size since to big of a blade might get too heavy since I still want to have powerful loop play kinda like joo se hyuk

the problem is your blade (stiff/hard carbon).

well chopping wasnt so bad with it, but looping I wanted more spin than speed (a little more flex)

I really want a blade that has a medium feel and stiffness so it has enough flex to draw out a lot of spin but not too much that it catapults when I loop hard like my current blade. But I really have no idea :headbang:

def blades with lots of power:
joo se hyuk 104g
chen weixing 85g

def blades Ive used with lots of control
donic defplay senso
yasaka sweeper

If you want control the defplay is a great bet. If you have a monster forehand and that will be your main weapon probably nothing beats the joo se hyuk... lots of pros use the joo se hyuk... the defplay is really great if you want a lighter blade though.

I find it firmer than the others. However Butterfly rates it medium.

It is heavy however it has good control, plus a soft rubber like rakza 7 soft should work well on it.

iunno, I feel the harder blade doesn't give me that umph(no idea how to say it) when I loop, plus 95$ is expensive ;(

and I guess I could sand it down an inch or two

Maybe the defplay senso would be better then. You should ask Yousan Yousan how he likes his.

I guess you like how the flex holds the ball longer. Dwell time improves spin.
I think Yousa also uses doublefish 1615. That rubber has been getting good reviews lately and is fairly cheap.

Paddle palace sells the defplay. American table tennis Sells the deflplay classic....

I've heard rumors that the defplay warps...not sure about that.
I picked up the def x to look at it at my local shop and the head is TOO BIG.

Not to say it wouldn't play well but you would be hard pressed to find rubber that will fit.
It dwarfs my yasaka sweeper and my chen weixing blade...In fact it's the biggest blade I've ever seen.
I have a defplay classic senso. It's very controllable and soft feel. The straight handle is a thin one but I like it.
