Blade: Bty Viscaria
FH: Joola EGP 2.0
BH: Bty Cermet 1.9

First I'd like to say someting about the weight, which was like I expected heavier than my other setups but suprisingly it wasn't a problem at all.
The blade is also headheavy but by far not as much as the Ishlion.

I'm probably not going to use this blade atleast for a while and the most important factor contributing to this is its low trajectory. I simply have trouble with this and would have to take quitte abit time to adjust my technique and even then I dont know if I'll be able to say if it payed off. So now I simply hit too much nets and too much over the table. This however does not mean it is a bad blade at all because its actually a marvelous blade.

It's speedy but not insanely fast and I found this one of the spinniest blades I've ever tried. Its just that with this combo you really have to hit it into the sponge if you want to create this crazy spin and at that point the speed also kicks in making slow spinny loops hard to perform.

To me the blade feels medium on hardness and it's dwelltime is quitte decent actually but no where near high.

The blade shines most on drives and is incredibly accurate and stable on blocks. It matches up really nicely with my cermet for my backhand and was performing very consistantly.

-Medium hardness feel
-speedy
-low trajectory
-low-mid dwelltime
-heavy (94 grams)
-headheavy
-has some vibrations

Next will be the custom galaxy. I'm really looking forward to playing with it tomorrow :D

I quite liked the Viscaria too, but I feel that the TBs is a better version of it.

Servio, if it has some vibrations, it means it is not like other arylate carbon which does not give "report" to your hand when you hit the ball (like my previous Aspyte).

Oddly as it may sound, that is correct.

So we should not generalize the idea that arylate carbon has no feel. My previous Taksim also has some feel, unlike the Aspyte.

How does the Viscaria compare to the Viscaria Light?

I have four of thee blades, all around 90g. I would say that the blade is stiff but quite soft. Not medium hard. I don't feel much vibration compared to pure wood blades but I actually like that kind of feel. Throw angle depends I think more on rubber that you put on it. With Tenergy 64 it has lots of arc. I used it for years with JO Gold, which is a very low throw rubber, and had no problem, but lately have prefereed spinnier rubbers. I have never noticed that the blade has a particularly low trajectory compared to anything else.

As Silver says, it is pretty hard to tell much difference from a TBS or a Timo Boll ALC. The handle is different, it is the same as on the old Korbel.

I've never used a Viscaria light, but doubt it would play as well.

This is a neato chance to put an all points bulliten out on Servio. He has been gone too long. At leasy Skippy has made a comeback of sorts.

Whoa, just in time!

I was supposed to get another Photino as backup and be done with it. Then I saw one of those blue boxes...then had a fit.

So instead of a Photino, a Viscaria was bought. Gahd! I thought I was cured.

Some pictures to help complete the review:
