My testing of G4 H48 was paused this week while I rested my arm and quieted by EJ'ing in preparation for the NATT tournament this weekend.

After my last post I have given the rubber 3 small layers of PO oil, and it still isn't flat. So there is quite a lot of tension on the rubber.
I hope it will make the sponge more reactive, otherwise someone else can test it. But I will defiantly give it a go tomorrow. :punch:

I have and have had 2 good sessions with it. Waiting a little longer to post. I hate to do posts after only 1 session-I find I am often misled badly.

My G4 H48 also had issues staying stuck to its Donic gluesheet, perhaps the effects of factory tuning.

The G32 stuck without any problems usin Joola X-glue, although it did absorb a bit more than average sponges.

Maybe CSTT's problem is due to the PO ?

I don't think this rubber is factory tuned at all.

I have concluded my testing of Giant Dragon Superspin G4 H48 2.0 black.

Being a big fan of GD's LP rubbers, I really wanted to like this rubber. And it did have potential: Fourth-generation rubber from a company clearly putting thought and quality into their rubber products. Great price and many sponge options. And the promise of Superspin..

But try as I might I could never warm up to it. Nor could the 4-5 others I entreated to test it. The 2000-2100 lefty junior who had likened it to Tenergy a few weeks ago re-tested it yesterday and no longer favored it. That while testing it back-to-back (i.e. on the same blade) vs Tinarc, Tinarc III, and Skyline II Neo (TA3 was his favorite of those four).

I did get a brief hit with G4 S32 a few days ago and it played much better than the H48 (clicky, too!) I was told that S32 was unbelievably good tuned, but not being a rubber tuner I didn't delve into that claim.

No, I think I made a mistake with the glue drying slower than I thought. It's a new glue and I need to practise with it

Just a word of advise. Don't have the same experiment as I do: trying to soften up the sponge with lamp oil. The rubber just won't stick. Even after a week of rest.
I'm going try rubber cement tomorrow, waterbased glue isn't up for the task.

I finally could try it again. To be honest with you, I didn't had any hope left for this rubber. How much could it have improved?
Well, apparently a lot! It was much faster than last time, and a lot more spin. Control didn't really suffer. Loops were much better, although it's not really suited for slow spinny loops. This one needs a bit more armspeed to really work. Blocking remained great.
I had a quick hit with it (10 minutes), and Monday I will give it a better try. I have some hope left for this rubber after all.

So all who tried a Superspin G4. Put 2 small layers of lamp oil on the rubber, leave it untouched for 2 weeks and glue it on again. Give it another shot, it performed really well tonight.

I have tried it one more time, and I just don't like it. There is no safe play with this rubber. It's all out attack or nothing at all. It forces me to play a game I don't want to play anymore. The shots itself aren't bad, so that's not the problem.
If there is anyone else who would like to test this rubber just give a message.
