I just ordered a sheet of Tibhar Ellen Def 1.5 Red and should be arriving later today.
I will appreciate if anybody can share his/her experience with Ellen Def.
How is it in terms of:
1). service return
2). blocking topspin
3). rolling/soft hitting underspin
4). spin reversal
Thanks.

I have had some tests with it on a NSD.
My NBA was better in every disziplin. The Ellen Def is too undangeruos, your opponent may think, that there is no Anti in the game.
To me it seems like a fewgrippy pimples-in-sheet with a little dumpening.
There was nothing what hits me from the chair.

Kees wrote some interesting stuff about the Ellen Def. Here you have it:

It is, however, written for a defensive style of play.

Well....I bought a sheet of Yasaka Anti Power and found it uncontrollable, at least for now due to the lack of practice with anti.
That's why I am trying Ellen for now.
Perhaps I will need to play with Ellen or 804 initially to get a feel of playing with rubber that has little friction before switching to Anti Power which is nearly 100% frictionless.

Well, I guess I am going to use Ellen as an intermediate step towards the more dangerous anti such as Anti Power.

Anti Power is for an attack stile, but it has some weeknesses in defence.
Course of the thick sponge, you can get control problems against choppers with good backspin and no spin.

I had a session with Ellen Def 2.0 and found it easier to use than Anti Power.
Blocking relatively powerful loops is quite easy.
Attacking long underspin push is quite easy as well.
But I had problem with weak topspin loops that are low...whenever my stroke go a little upward, the ball will sail long. Or if I block those weak topspin passively, the ball will go under the net. But I believe if I remember not to be too passive on weak topspin and to stoke the ball in a more forward direction then it should be alright.
Will give the Ellen Def 2.0 a bit more time and see....
