OOAK Table Tennis Forum

Anyone tried this blade yet? I would be interested in your "take" on the blade.

At a friend's request I ordered one for him with the idea of his experimenting with twiddling between inverted and anti or long pips. He very athletic with a strong forehand loop.

The blade arrived today and the blade a very good fit and finish. It seemed to take the sealer very well. I hope he will have a chance to use it tomorrow. It seemed reasonably priced at a bit under thirty dollars (US). This is the first GD blade I have seen with a metal logo plate on the base of the handle.

The blade is an all wood, 5ply OFF+ with "transverse middle plys of hinoki/cypress." At a guess the blade might, more realistically, be labeled OFF, but I should know better if I get a chance to try it at length.

Weight is under the advertised 83g with a thickness of 6.3mm.

I have not heard of that one, so I'll be interested to find out more about it too. You'd think they could give it a more appealing name, wouldn't you?
