Reviewer: City level player (semi-finals in city championship) in India. Play regularly in club tournaments. Have been playing for more than 10 years now.

Let me start by saying that the local tournaments here are over and the ghost of all EJs dead have come alive in me. I am on an EJ spree and have been testing:
1. Sanwei
2. Joola's latest tensors
3. Palio Thor's and Macro Era

I've played with Euro and Chinese rubbers but moved to harder Chinese rubbers on the FH a couple of years back.

2. Physical Properties:
Black (Max):
Weight Uncut: 75 gms
Weight cut to 151mm x 160mm: 54 gms
Packaging: Vacuum sealed
Quality of top-sheet: Excellent, the best topsheet I've ever seen
Tack: Medium tacky when new (6/10). tackiness wears off to (2/10) when used for a few weeks.
Hardness: Marked as 39. Medium hard.
Grip: Excellent grip. The grippiest topsheet I've ever seen.
Sponge Feeling: Not as dead as typical Chinese rubbers. 60% as bouncy as T05.
Control: Excellent control in short game. Mid-distance game is also out of this world.
Looping: The best rubber for power looping. Good for normal loops too.

Blade recommendations:
I have used these on Galaxy MC-2. As with typical chinese sponges, a flexible blade does good. I would recommend a OFF- to OFF flexible blade. A medium hardness blade should do well.

Conclusion:
This rubber carries over all the good properties of Sanwei T88-I and leaves most of its bad properties behind. The weight is good at 75g uncut. Its a little more tacky than the T88-I which helps get more when you brush loop. As with T88-I, once you commit to a power loop, you get an enormous kick off the table.
For the price ($14) this is the best rubber out there. It is also pretty fast right out of the packet and I've not had to boost it yet after 40 hrs of play.
I would say that this plays like a T25 with some tack.

How's the spin vs T05 and T88-I?

The spin is as much as the Sanwei T88-I. It is just a dime tackier, so the short game is a bit spinnier. Compared to the T05, it is less spinnier in the mid-distance game. However close to the table and power looping, it is equal to T05 if not better.

It is also lighter than my T05 at 64 g for the uncut sheet and around 40g cut to my blade.

Thank you, my only complaint about T88-1 is just the weight.
I ordered the Provincial of Target, we'll see...
Or maybe I should get T88-I 2.0 mm to save weight..

Bought the Sanwei Target Provincial instead of the regular one.
39 degree, bright yellow sponge, much softer compared to my T88-I 39 degree.
Very tacky, yet bouncy for Chinese rubber. I put it on my old and trusty Avalox P700.
It's no where near my T88-I in terms of speed nor spin.
It's pretty tacky, yet the spin is moderate, disappointed. Maybe I got a bad batch.

Perhaps it's meant for tuning, as this is what the provincial players probably do despite the rules?

Could be, because the packaging is not vacuum packed.. hmmmmm

The regular Target pays nearly the same as the T88-I. I have ordered another sheet. Lets see how this one turns out.

I've been trying to speed glue this rubber to no avail.
It just won't stick to the blade. (been gluing over 30+ rubbers, this one is the most stubborn).
Clamping over night 3x with no success.
So I tuned it with paraffin oil, glued with WBG, clamped over night, still detaching.
I aired it for 1 day and reglued it with WBG for tomorrow's play..We'll see.

I've also ordered this rubber today just to try it out. Please update us with your experience.
I've tried Sanwei T88-I in 2.0 mm (Red). Although its quite comparable to Max thickness, I had a felling that it was bottoming out on some hits.

Are you tuning both the topsheet/sponge?

Only the sponge with 3 coats of haifu whale 2 speed glue.

Then I tuned with 2 layers of PO after the speed glue didn't work out after 2 days..
I saw someone selling the light version of T88-I..

The commercial version is nothing like you provincial version (as per your description). It is 95% as fast as T88-I and has the same amount of spin and the same high throw. It is a dime tackier which makes it better in the short game and on serves. Plus its lighter.

How did your tuned provincial version play?

It's lost its tuning after I air it dry. If I tune it, it will curl and for some reason, even though the curl isn't extreme, I can't get it to stay on the blade even after 1 night clamping.
It's pretty slow, tacky, slowly gaining spin, but vs t88-I, it's only got maybe 75% speed and 75% spin. Lower throw.
It is indeed lighter and the sponge even though it's 39 degree, same as my T88-I, it's a lot softer.
Maybe a bad batch..

I'll send it to you if you want to test it.
