Two new anti-spin rubbers from Giant Dragon. I do not yet know anything about them, or when they'll be available.

OX is not allowed but this allows you to put in on the sponge of your choice. :)

Today one of my friends has given this Giant Dragon Soft Anti to test.I like it very much.As its name it is really soft and you feel the ball very well.I am not sure if it is treated or not but its spin reversal is massive.I can say same with Nightmare.Easier to smash the ball. Its control is good too.

I am wondering about your judgement, Fadil. I gave this anti a try, too. However, I found at least played close to the table it has no marked spin reversal at all, which is easily seen by its grippy surface, which in my opinion excludes the potential for sr. Have you got a treated one, maybe?
Rumor says Materialspezialist Beast will be a treated version of this one.

Fadil said it was "given" to him. He does not know if it had been treated. Might explain the huge reversal. ;)

Now after I have read Slick I am sure that the one I played is treated.Slick said no spin reversal at all but the one I played has really a good reversal. Also its topsheet has no friction at all.My friend who gave me this rubber said he paid 20 Euros to German Ebay. Its normal price is not more than 17 dollars. So it is obvious that it is treated.

Well if he only pay 20 Euros vs the 17 dollars for an untreated version, it is a pretty good deal IMO.

I received a few sheets from Conrad * Ztabletennis.com and put on two sheets for testing last night. Both were 1.5 - 1 in black and one in red. Out of the package they
looked like inverted rubber more so in black than in red. Very light with a soft yellow sponge. Note: I havent tested the special yet. weight is around 44-48 grams for an uncut sheet. After using anti's like Neo,super-anti, and a few others I found that the soft anti was indeed *SOFT*. Not unlike Neo but lighter in weight and had
some dimples when pressed. Teddy thought it felt like reflectoid and almost like a tacky anti. Yes there seemed to be some grip to this anti.

Set ups: red on a Donic Burn all+& Black on a Butterfly Defence 2

Service return: I give it a 6 because it is still a little spin sensitive but rarely a pop-up ball. Pushing off service was good but did not produce anything special. The Black sheet on the Def 2, attacked better and seems to work well off service.
Speed&blocking: good if the ball is hit hard the ball would stay in play. returns were decent but did not have much if any reversal. Did get a few knuckle balls that did look good.
Control: not bad I give it a 7, out of 10. Not the 9 I would expect that I got from Neo.
Chopping: 9 for chopping since the ball has lest speed on it the chop was more in tune with Reflectoid in nature. Dies really well after chopping, but you really need to dig in the rubber.

Conclusion: Since this is my first test I need to keep testing it until I can get all the gears and shots tested. I have tested it against loopers ( good ) Long pips ( fair ) and people that do not spin alot (unfair ) I would love to see this sponge mounted on a smooth anti as well or look at a treated one. My guess is this could be a replacement for grippy Long Pips in .5mm. or a good chopping rubber in 1.5.
Put this rubber on the right blade and im sure something good will happen. I will be testing this for the next 30 days and will video shoot the results when I am done testing. **Thanks Conrad for your support http://ztabletennis.com/zshop/

Peace GIG * more reviews on these rubbers to follow* next to test is the Special

It sounds very much like a soft version of the Guard.

all the feed-back I have gotten thus far looks that way. It looks like nothing more than a rebrand. I did work out on the robot with it last night and it does require alot of effort to FH chop the ball...but the results are not bad. Very hard to return a dead dieing spinning ball. It might work really good on a faster blade or maybe looking at thinner sponge for an All+ or Def Blade. This would be a real decent rubber depeding on style and if it had lightly less friction. The friction level may reduce over time, I will report on that later.

Peace GIG  :Chop:

This is very simular to Neo Anti, But lighter. If you like to play an active game using anti rubber, than this is a good one to try. Using strong FH chops can be deadly and does require a little effort. BH chops were less effective. The tackyness on the top sheet did reduce a little and I did let the top sheet get dirty and I did start getting alot more spin reversal. I then treated the top sheet with an armor all product, very light application. The spin reversal was massive and control was still there. I myself do not tamper with my equipment except to trim down a blade. Rubbers I do not treat or change. I can see that there will be ( already has been ) some tampering and treating of this rubber to make it more like some LEGAL antis's that already have been treated. If this happens then this rubber will be very dangerous.
If left untreated It does require a faster blade for sure. Or using a thinner sponge might also do pretty well. The Special version was just that..special a little faster but nothing to write about. Maria Kretshimer type style of play. Heavy deep FH chops will would great.

Conclusion: Better for active chopping in 1.5. good control, must be active to play with. Might work well in thinner sponge on a defensive set-up. better used with a faster blade. Dangerous if treated and used for spin reversal...Not for me.

I would consider using this in special, or soft .9mm

Peace GIG
