I just got a new joo blade and i thought it was a bit too fast for defending so i was thinking of using it as a mid distance looper kinda blade.

any suggestions would help

if i do, then wat would be some good rubbers to put on it? I already have some 729 fx on it and it seemes pretty slow because of the hard sponge, but i would like to stick with the chinese rubber area.

thkz :D

I've used Reactor Tornado on it for quite a while. It's quite fast, enough to shoot winners from two steps back. The throw is pretty high when combined with the Joo, but you can make a pretty flat arc if you just *really* close your angle. Tornado is quite light for a Chinese rubber too, so you'd have no problems with head heaviness, even with two sheets in max. I'm not sure where you're located, but you can get sheets of Tornado for about 15 USD here.

Other than that, something like Friendship Higher III or Faster III would probably be appropriate for what you're looking for. Both give a ton of speed for Chinese rubbers and are just about the right hardness for the Joo (I'm assuming that Faster III's sponge is about the same hardness as Higher III's, as I haven't tried it myself).

I'll agree with Hobbes on the Higher3 (jap sponge). Works great on the Joo. Tried it on my Mat. Pro blade and didn't like it half as much. In 2.2 there's is still plenty of control, but it can still shoot some zingers from mid-distance. Medium soft sponge, slightly tacky, great all-around rubber.

Sorry to Alex for kinda taking business away from the shop, but suplazza, http://www.zeropong.com/ has a TON of Friendship rubbers for quite cheap. I think two sheets of Higher III or one sheet of Higher III and another of Higher Transcend would work quite well.

Higher III is the Japanese sponge variant. If you're comfortable with the control on your backhand, go with two sheets of Higher III. If you'd like a bit more control than power, go with the Transcend version on backhand. :)

Yes these are excellent rubbers and good value... very good for a spin based looping game...but still decent power too...

PS No worries at all Hobbes
