Send me a ticket to Australia and I will make the headlines in the U.S. papers here about the trip. I will make sure the world knows, Alex is the reason there is table tennis in Australia.

I think one thing we could do on the day (if we can) is make a posting about what this forum has meant to us. What might have happened if this forum had never happened? That sort of thing. If you're interested or think this is a good idea then it gives you a couple of days to think about what you want to say.

And, if you can, toast your posting with your favourite beverage!

Well I forgot my 5th anniversary here until I read this post

I think a thread like that suggested by Oskar would be very appropriate.

Whilst I'd love to see you come to Oz Hookshot, I wouldn't like it to be based on a lie. Alex isn't the reason TT is here in Australia, he (and Rob) is merely the reason a lot of us here know one another where we otherwise might not have

Sounds like an awesome idea Oskar! Hopefully some of us will be willing to post something.

HAPPY 6th ANNIVERSARY!

The great thing about the Internet is no matter what interest you have there is always a place to go. A place to meet like-minded people. A place where, no matter how strange your interest, you don't have to feel strange and alone. A place where you can feed your interest and watch it grow.

The OOAK forum is one such place.

When I stumbled here I knew I'd found a special place to learn and share my interest - my passion - for table tennis. Great topics, lively conversation and a place filled with similarly passionate individuals. No longer did I feel strange or alone. I am certain that if this forum didn't exist I would be a different player. I seriously think that my progress would not have been as quick and steady and assured. I know that I wouldn't have met such a bunch of wonderful people from different parts of the world.

And I'm absolutely sure I wouldn't have had the opportunity to play this great game with people like Haggisv and Reborn.

A forum like this is only as strong as its members, especially their involvement on so many different levels. A forum not only needs to be fed with interesting threads and posts, but also it needs people working in the background to make sure everything hums along nicely, i.e. moderators, spam busters, indexers, etc, etc. I've had a look around at other forums and I do think the OOAK forum excels in all these areas.

For me, it's a place where I feel safe and appreciated. It's a place where I've had the opportunity to not only share my (somewhat limited) knowledge and experience of table tennis, but also my quirky creative side.

I'll continue to be part of this amazing place for as long as I can hold a bat and hold my wits.

Thank you!
