“Table tennis, or ping pong as it is called in China, is a fantastic way to keep fit and our members are very excited about the prospect of being able to learn the game.

“And it’s great that these special ping pong sets have nets that fit to any table, so any group can use them.”

Jayne Woodley, chief executive of the OCF, added: “Table tennis is a safe and enjoyable way for older and disabled people to exercise and make new friends.”

Uhh, there's that Olympic sport thing too.

I personally can't STAND playing on anything that isn't regulations size or bounce :P

But publicity is publicity. Someone could think, "oh this is fun" and really get into it (That's what I did)

On the other hand, this just kinda prolongs the whole "ping-pong is a game, not a sport, silly"

@haggisv: good point! If it makes somebody happier/healthier, I'm good with it! (Plus the health aspect might draw more people)

Uhh, there's that Olympic sport thing too.

This happens in council centres & community clubs in South Australia and as I've posted earlier TT is used in brain rehabillitation which helps the brain reconnect with the body.
So it's happening here & probably in many other countries of the world it's a fabulous sport & social activity   8)
