Mizutani first denied the rumour on the issue of boycott. "I was feeling physically and mentally exhausted after the London Olympics so I just wanted to rest for 3 or 4 months. No other reasons. I just want some time and relax." Jun Mizutani revealed.

Although he denied the rumour that he allegedly boycotted the prior international competitions, Mizutani admitted that he indeed wrote a formal letter to the ITTF President Adham Sharara.

"I think the situation is all clear for Mr Sharara but he also has a lot of difficulties. I believe that he will make unremitting efforts for a fair competition environment. This will be a long battle." Jun Mizutani added.
