Amelie Solja Germany
Style: shakehander, anti

Should the Germany be changed to Austria or does that just designate place of birth?

yes need to be changed... 2 reasons,
1 she is now austrian...
2 germany dont deserve to have her name associated, after what they have done to her...

Solja is among seeds in the upcoming Polish open, with possible match against Sabine Winter in the 2nd round ;)

What is she using currently. I saw her match against Zhenqi Barthel on last 16 Qatar Open and it looked impressive.

I had exactly the same though, after watching the same match! :o :o :o

Since I still have her contact details after our interview, I've asked her already, and hopefully she'll respond soon.

That would be really great! I know that probably it is Dr Neubauer anti and a blade, but anyway, since I do not believe that there is a replacement for frictionless... but the way she played in Qatar and Kuwait, technique, and maybe some good equipment combination tells different.

Here are those two matches:

Amelie Solja - Zhenqi Barthel:

Amelie Solja - Liu Shiwen:

That match against Barthel was awesome. She doesn't do the frictionless-style short blocking.

Not a bad effort, and she gave here plenty of trouble, but Liu Shiwen was just too strong.

Thank you very much for your congratulations from OOAK Forum! It`s so nice to feel your support. Thanks to all! I play with a Joola carbon blade (it`s faster) and with the same rubbers as before.

1). Amelie had to leave Germany because she wasn't considered for the German national team. It is good that Amelie beat Zhenqi Sun of Germany. .... some kind of a personal revenge...
2). It is sad to see that the Solja sisters have to represent 2 different countries (Austria & Germany).
3). It is good that both sisters are ranked in the top 100 in the world.
