Hi guys, I am new to this forum, and i was wondering if you could help answer my question?
Which is the best rubber for openong loops against heavy backspin and good for counterlooping from mid-distance?
If you vote could you please state why? What characteristics does it have to make it good?

Well I haven't tried any of those rubbers so I can't help you out yet...I'm hoping to try the inspirit out in a week or so though. If you go to the link to the review site at the top of this page there are a lot of good reviews on various chinese rubbers (including inspirit).

Hi silver yes this is the third forum i have posted on

You're never going to get a definite answer, as different rubbers suit different people. What are you leaning towards now? Bryce? Just buy a sheet and see how it goes.

Hi Silver I would like to try Bryce or Bryce FX but alot of people have said that you have to change your shot action because of the rubbers speed, and this may disrupt my game, so I am unsure whether to gof for it or not, I think i will purchase a sheet of bryce or bryce fx, which do you think i should go for when playing the following shots alot of the time:
Counterlooping,Heavy Spin serves,Blocking,Heavy spin opening loops(slow-medium pace),Looping against heavy backspin and short touch shots a big aspect of the game for me anyway

Considering that your want list for a rubber appears to have every shot listed except for chopping, I think you're trying to find the "ultimate" rubber without realizing that every rubber noted for a specific characteristic has tradeoffs for them. If you really want a rubber that's great at everything, just use one of the popular all-round rubbers, like sriver or mark V.

Considering that you're currently using EL on your FH, Bryce wouldn't necessarily change your technique much, if at all.

Bryce FX would be better for lifting backspin, since it's softer and slower, but would not be as good as Bryce for counterlooping or loopkilling. It's a tradeoff you have to make somewhere. I suggest that if you prefer softer sponges, more spin or a wee bit more control, start with the FX version.

I actually prefer Mambo C over bryce - I like the topsheet better, but that's just a personal preference. I haven't tried either unglued though...

Hi Silver just an off topic question, how did you know that i am currently using EL?
By the way is Mambo C how would you compare Mambo C in comparison to Bryce or Bryce FX glued or unglued?

Glued up, hardness is between the two, topsheet is thinner, speed is between the two, grip is higher.
