Man you must have tried a lot of rubbers to establish which is the best for looping! I gather you didn't like Omega iv Europe, Sigma 2 Europe, Bluefire M3, Tibhar Evolution?

Sorry, I meant best for my style. For some reason I bottomed out sponge on bluefire. I posted this as an icebreaker since this subforum had nothing in it. Usually don't post much....just trying to help

The loopers at our club tend to use Andro Hexer.

That old friendship rubber Transcend sp used to be awesome for a high throw Chinese rubber, really old school style, Carbonman would have even found it tolerable ;). You don't seem to be able to get it anymore and I don't know that any other friendship rubber throws the ball quite like it.

If you are me and you like flatter rubbers, the Hurricane 2, Skyline 3 and Whale soft (grip-s) are all good. Even 729 normal is good, but none of those are loopy looping as in high throw arcy rubbers.

I liked the Bluefire M2, it's better than Hexer, Rasant is definitely more spinny than Hexer and harder to control, I felt the bluefire was less bouncy than Rasant?. Hexer is years old now, there's heaps more spinny tensors like Sigma, bluefire. rasant etc. They all have the new style mega porous sponge and grippier topsheets than the Hexer/vega pro/Baracuda generation. Tenergy 05 for me is craper than all the above, just feels "wrong" always has. Rasant turbo is harder than Rasant, might be less bouncy? could be good.

I almost ordered a sheet of Omega IV Europe after reading Carbonman talking about it but I didn't manage to convince myself I could control it yet.

ATM i think the best FH looping rubbers are:
Tgy 05 - 80, Bluefire JP 01 - M1/M2, Rakza 7, Sigma II (lower throw)

I dind't try andro or tibhar, i suppose evolution rubbers are quite good too; andro is said to be too fast and not enough spinny usually.

Since you like the Vega (your signature), you'll probably like the Vega Japan a lot as well.

Thank you for the advice, actually i tried vega japan some time ago and i should put it in my list too. I found it to be a better attacking version of vega pro, with same and sometimes more spin, the throw a little lower, faster and more lively, much better for blocking and flat hitting also; i guess for an attacker VJ is the VP they wished from the start, to me, with it's extremely porous sponge it was a little too lively, even in the short game. While my attack was better, my defence and cutting skills were worse, but it was on the defplay, so on the Victas, which to me has more control and softer touch, i could try it again, too bad i sold my old one :(
P.S: one thing i really dislike about VJ and others like bluefire M series is the extremely porous sponge that tends to break easy when changing rubber...

Btw, it was the same feeling i had when i tried JP01: better attack, worse defence and cut play. I'm going to try it again at the end of the month, when i'm done with competitions (i have the university national championships ahead of me :) ), i get my new latex pack and my 2nd VKM ;)

Vega pro until now just felt perfect rubber to me, the only problem is that it lacks power on topspins and when i play with more modern rubber i always find my attack better both on quality and consistency... it's the eternal drama of the defender, to balance attack and defence :D

Perhaps you'll like the Victas VS 401, which is what I'm using now. I chose it because I wanted to chop more, but I love it for looping and it's extremely spinny. Although it's a German-made rubber, it does not play like any German rubber I've played before, it's quite unique.
I found 2.0mm too lively, but 1.8mm perfect... might be different on another blade though.
