OOAK Table Tennis Forum

Der-materialspezialist rubbers have been around for while, but I hear very little about them. Do you guys know anyone that actually uses these rubbers? I suspect it's most likely to be used in Germany.

One player in my club, a veteran, plays with a black Nightmare. Tricky as balls to play against and never lets a ball get off the table unless he gets really outplayed.

I bought the SpinHunter blade from DMS earlier this year in April, was my goto blade until I bought the OSP Expert. The feeling was good, not too fast, but not too slow either.

Haven't been on much and didn't notice this before.

I've played the beast 1.5 a lot this year and recommend it for blocker/punchers

I'm currently using toni hold new 40 ox cause I prefer the softer feel and better hitting/chopping.

Really struggling against no-spin balls with either.

I ordered my nighmare and beast from germany and there is certainly nobody else around here(upstate NY) that's even heard of it much less plays it.

I recommended it to one guy who said he cant keep loop blocks down with his Phantom but he didnt seem too interested.

Our local TT shop has some materialspezialist blades and rubbers in stock but the blades don't seem to be be anything special or particularly well made. They sold a few rubbers but no blades I think.

Sadly I have only had a series of small but bad experiences with them. I've tried Nightmare and Undertaker, IMO they are nothing special and to be honest with you I think they're quite low quality as well. I can't say I've gotten a very good impression from them in general neither, they just don't seem very professional and concerned about the quality so I probably won't buy a product from them again.

I have the same impression, the lsd rubber was not exactly high quality. To me materialspezialist seems like a 1 man operation focusing only on sales.

i have to disagree completely. in terms of slick antis, they have the best ones to offer

I'm very surprised at the quality issues raised.
I'd rate the quality of both my dms slick anti sheets as maximum.

The only sort of issue is the glue sheet is too strong.
The beast in particular has ripped up blades coming off even after it's been on and off several times.
Including my irreplaceble Def II

I think the beast will be playable for many years with an occasioanal wipe to keep the wear from adding grip.
Compare that to the more expensive timeless that you're lucky to get one year out of(even forgetting the approval issue).

I've never tried any of their LPs, but I've tried the Nightmare and Beast antis and they seemed good quality.

And yes, the glue sheets have destroyed at least two blades of mine.
