That's surprising. In my opinion the friction of the Hellfire is quite normal/high. I feel a good resistance when dragging the ball over the pips, especially with low pressure.

In comparison with the Dornenglanz and its (out of the box) sticky pips surface the Hellfire is not as sticky because of its coarse surface. But when playing the friction and reaction to spin is similar.

Are you sure that your sheet of Hellfire is not treated in any way?

Well, the sheet that I go was used, so the friction might be reduced OR it could be the china pips effect that there is a huge variation between sheets.. I've seen for example some Globe 979 being completely frictionless out of the box while others had noticeable friction and I took each of the sheets right out of the plastic wrapper from the factory without any tampering with their properties.
I have to note that the friend who sent me the sheet did use chemicals to remove the glue sheet from the rubber but I doubt that those chemicals would affect friction..

If you use a rubber, the friction will decrease on any rubber (and I meant to say "GOT" not "GO").
What I meant with out of the box was out of the box (envelope) that I received it and NOT the original packaging..

Got to play the rubber last evening... Here are my impressions:
1) rubber has good reversal
2) great for blocking

However, the rubber is way too slow for my taste.. I might try it on a OFF+ blade, maybe that would make it work great for me.. When pushing or hitting, most of my shots would go into the net as the rubber is just too slow.. If I would describe the Hellfire, it feels like a DTecS on marijuana or valium
It's suited very well for a passive blocking and chopping game but for aggressive pushing, it's too slow for me.. If someone likes "slow" pips, that rubber is a great option. Like I said, I will try it on a super fast blade and it might be perfect for me.. I don't know yet.. I will try it on a Dr. Neubauer High Technology blade to see if that will improve the properties for my type of game..

It sound to me like something happened to your sheet, coz mine really wasn't that slow.

The player who let me try it used some kind of chemical to get the sponge off. Not sure if that changed prooerties?

Yes, that might be it. The Hellfire is meant for active play, where a really slow LP is usually not as effective.

Tried it on a JSH blade.
I agree, Hellfire isn't enough dangerous for opponents when I attack with it.
Even it's quite easy to attack with it, trajectory of the ball is very predictable for my opponents.

Do you consider the Hellfire less dangerous than Grass DTecS? If so the extra control would not make it more desirable for me than the DTecS?

Has anyone checked on S & T's competition results? They should have improved, or their LP isn't as good as is claimed.

I will probably try my sheet tomorrow night on the VKM. Since Dornenglanz is the only other LP I've used on that blade I'll be comparing it to that. I'm quite hopeful about this LP but in the same time a bit worried about some properties as well, let's see tomorrow.

I play with Hellfire 0x red on Hallmark Aurora def side.

And this is so far the best combination I have tried for this rubber.
Blade is rather hard and stiff and medium speed so I can use it aggressive chop-blocking
at the table or chopping half distance. Hellfire and Aurora is (almost) together, perfect because it offers
good disruptive effect and control at the same time. And especially service
returns works very well. So I can highly recommend this combination
for players, like me, starting with aggressive push-blocking at the table,
but maybe forced to chop mid-distance.

I have tried Hellfire on
LKT toxic 3, Firewall and defplay as well.

You are absolute right about that Alex...

Hellfire is also very good on joola Chen Weixing blade.
So stiff, hard and medium speed blades works for me with Hellfire
BTW.

I think I will try Talon 0x on my Barath
