Yan An's father, Yan Yongguo, the coach of the Beijing Women's Team, got another reason for his son's loss.

"Before the Chinese National Games, in order to strengthen his control over the ball, Yan An had his original 05 type rubber replaced by a 05FS type. It was actually conducive to his pitches but not ideal to his control. In the National Games, most of his errors were due to such reason. So after which, he decided to return to the original type. However, the change needed another adjustment."

Yan An and any other player, we are all the same by wanting more, of the big 3... power, spin and control

and a father or coach can use all the same excuses we use because of our daily lives

over trained, under trained, changed rubbers, changed back, don't do mornings, forgot lunch, towel, cleaner, worked 12 hours that day, had a fight with the GF/wife, etc

of couse they are all true and valid reasons, it's just that it can happen to us all

There are times that changes came for better...

and we can see ppl that changes and keep the performance, like ma long he keeps changing his blade over and over.
and shiono who changed the blade and the rubber and keep the performance on the german open...
