I can create backspin against topspin that makes it unreal to go further on with topspin, when I yuse LP.
In lower classes then often is no more TS to expect and instead of it they play ping pong.
Against these ping pong I have a very heavy game.
Not so with the NBA, the backspin is comfortable enough, that I can not be shot.
So the ball is much longer in game, the match looks out better and the whole is on a higher level.
Though I can loose too, it is more satisfying to me when it happens.

You have right, when table tennis play with spin, you can create backspin, its water for defenders, and here, were i play are a lot of players, who i beet them a few years back, quite ease, but they grow to much in level and I am understand that,I am not mad, because is difficult to keep the same level because of the age,I am not so old,but I can't play anymore as an attacker with soft on both sides of the racket, and for me now it is fun,to play something else! Thursday i played with three rackets, and i liked to play with all three.First is donic defplay classic,bh-hallmark mirage modified,fh-tck chop, second bty-coferllait,bh-729-755ox,fh-formula donic sonex jp and the last an old bat manufactured in my country from 1989,bh-grass dtecs1.6,fh tibhar superdedefnce1.6! i am gonna record some training sessions with all three, may be you can see,and advice, with witch should i play in the future! If know about NBA it is very good, were i find with old sponge? This saturday i have tournament, and i gonna play in a first group witih 7-8 players ,first 4 goes forward in another group, after superior group remains only16 players, and they gonna play elimination(16players),what i have in my mind is there, after knowing the players in my group, and there style,I agonna decide with with racket I shall play, without thinking at the points,or win.I shall ply with first 60,from our comunity(all players are around 3000),and you can find us on http://www.tenisdemasa.ro.We are from Romania.About lower level were it is no spin, you can play with soft on both sides, but also you have right the fact anti it is good were is no spin! See you later!

Hard to find an elder NBA sponge.
May be that someone has it in his weaponchamber and doesn`t use it.
You can try to find it in grabblechests. Some bigger clubs have something like this for their youth-players.
Flea market for tabletennis equipment is also possible.
Best wishes to Romania and good luck for searching.

perhaps could still help:
1) defplay + NBA 2.0 Very good but with 1,3 too slow
2) defplay + NBA 2.0 ok for long range chop
3) NBA 1.3 good to play near or even way the table, specialy against LP or antis (tactic games)

In resume, perhaps a good idea to have 2 combos...

my other setups are:
- defpaly + NBA 2.0
- toccata + NBA 2.0
and both combined with Grip S 1,8 or Tackifire D 1.9

Just a video testing different setups

Thanks, for the replay, but for allmost an year i switch to another setup:Donic defpaly senso classic as a blade and rubbers Yasaka markV 2.0mm,and bh.tibhar grassdtecs black 1.2mm.In two weeks I am gonna change this set up with Donic defplay senso, black Yasaka Mark V 2.0mm,and red TSP CURL P1R 0.3-0.6mm.I quit playing with anti because I was stuck in a level without growing! It was a good transition for me,now I want to achieve more,to reach an upper level, now I am 43 ranking on the list in Romania, and we are more than 3000 persons, amateurs,ex second division,ex A division, actualy second division!

Looks like a nice setup. My defplay is just waiting for the right sponge for the p1r. Going to try the 0,5 of the old p1...
Do you have any vid with anti or LP?

It is a video with me in the final(at first page),I played at that time with donic defplay senso clasic,fh-tackiness chop 1.9mm,bh hallmark mirage anti topsheet and sponge max from friendship.About the new set up,i didn't received yet the Tsp rubber that I ordered from 12 december last year(www.ttnpp.com). Where i live I don't have a good looper to train, thats why maybe I can't advance with my new style, and I am force to go weekly in tornaments to face the real loopers opponents to steal some tranning minutes, but is hard you now, becuse your mind work to win every point....After i receive the rubber I shall try to make a video!I saw you practice with robot,I did that once half an hour, and after that all my friends beat me,usual I always beat them,it is total diferent playing with persons, than practice with robot.Best regards!(by the way:were are you from?)

I'm from Lisbon. The robot is just a complement of the tranning, the best partner to help you to test different combos. Never miss a session, don't complain, don't get bored and reduces lots of variables of the testing process (spin, speed, placement....). That part where you lost to your friends, I think was just a bad day ;)

About the video, I specially like your FH chop, same good today with the MarkV?...

I missed the twiddling part... an option? This is comming more and more important to me, as a chance to confuse the other player.

Regards

I think now that you ask,it was much better with tackiness chop ,because produce heavy backspin, but lack in atack,in topspin rally, with mark v the ball tend flow higher, and sometime goes not at the table, but excels in drive ,loop, counter atack(is the best),when the oponent sent the ball higher over the net,man I can tell you is dead, straight point.About the twidle,i tried many times in ,and i won many points, especialy when i had oponents who tried to avoid my backhand, they just push over and over into my fh,and after i twidle the bat, they sure rise the ball instantly. If you want to check my theory, please play same matches with some equal partners,or near to your level, after that, practice half an hour at robot, and than play again some matches!See you soon!Mark V i can use much longer than tackiness chop, when i realise a full heavy chop is point for sure.now i am trying to atack more ofen with my fh,as i did in the past, instead chopping,i shall chop just when i am forced to do.You can see some opponets in our comunity,at some tournaments on this site http://www.tenisdemasa.ro ,you also can find me there Soare Valentin(my name),last year also i organized a tournament on 2 november 2013.I live in town Valenii de Munte, county Prahova, country Romania.

You're (a bit) right about the robot, but like I said is just a complement.
In you're going to play is better warm up with a partner, but is different if you're testing, ok not better than a coach, for the lucky guys that have one. (not my case :( )

About the attack, take a close look to the interview of Shiono about what should be in first. His advise works to me, and helped to clarify my goals.

rubber is amazing and nasty.gives a dead ball and blocks hard drives-its on a cutdown defplay at the moment.good for chopping/chop blocking and backhand flicks.very low throw angle.downside is that my shoulder was aching as you have to give it some oomph..............
i think this is going to replace my juic neo anti as its very secure.
i was using tac c in 1.3 on the f/h and flipping a little.
may change the f/h though.
ps-the defplay is a marriage made in heaven with this anti.

I used to use NBA in 2mill, I'm considering trying again this summer as many say it is better V Poly ball, I admit I have struggled with lp ox or 0.5 for 2 seasons now!

What sponge are you using?

^^2mm in red on a defplay-its transformed my game and im beating a lot of players.cut down defplay blocks and absorbs fantastic.
i would not go lower than 2mm as i should imagine that it would be too slow-i was using juic neo in 2mm-neo is excellent but the best anti is more secure and blocks better.the best anti has apparently changed and is faster than it was years ago.this was discussed at length on a german forum.it now only comes in 2 thicknesses 1.3 & 2mm i think.
butterfly grubba pro (cut down)is also very good and plays like the defplay(not much in it)
