From the TT umpires Facebook group.

The ITTF Executive Committee has decided to suspend all Efforter racket coverings from LARC (List of authorised racket coverings), with immediate effect on 4 January 2016.
This suspension is a result of repeated breaches of clauses of the Technical Leaflet T4, which lead to suspension of authorisation, as specified in the ITTF Handbook (3.2.1.1) and in the Technical Leaflet T4 (7.2).
The offenses include:
• Selling racket coverings before the ITTF has provided notification that they have passed all necessary tests.
• Illegal modification of the pimple top surface of Efforter 004 Radar and selling with two different types of pimple top surfaces, with illegal use of the ITTF logo.
• Illegal use of the ITTF logo and ITTF number on racket coverings, which are currently not on LARC, but already available in the market.
The suspension is valid with immediate effect and you can download it directly from this link: http://ittf.com/stories/pictures/LARC%2 ... 1_2016.pdf

Wow, interesting, a good find so_devo

Does anyone know who was maker of Efforter? It would be really good to hear their side of the story. ;)

Where can you buy the things, anyway? I've never seen them for sale anywhere.

Come to think of it.. "Efforter" sounds vaguely, um, obscene. They should have used "Effortless" instead!

Nothing unusual here. Just more ITTF harassment of long pips companies. What else is new? Efforter had an offense version and a defense version under the same ITTF number. Giant Dragon does the same thing, but as an ITTF sponsor, they don't get suspended.

I do wonder how pro-active the ITTF is in discovering these types of issues... or do they purely reply on reports from players/competitors.

I'd say they put little Effort in themselves and just have others' reports on the Radar :P

Shouldn't the rubbers have been banned by the grammar police? :)

Defence
Offense

Shouldn't they both end in either ...ce or ...se? They were sending a mixed message. One is a verb, the other a noun.

I played against a Chinese gentleman who was visiting our club yesterday. He was using Efforter (OX) on his forehand. He was getting an insane amount of reversal when blocking my loops, although I don't know how much was attributed to the rubber or the player. I suspect it was more the player than the rubber, because he was very skillful... I was highly impressed!
I believe he's there for about a year, so I'm hoping he'll continue coming to our club, so that I can get to know him better. Unfortunately he only spoke a few words or English, but his daughter was there too, who could translate.
Hoping to play him again, and learn from some of his skills... exciting times!

Did anyone notice that Efforter rubbers are back onto the latest LARC:

43) EFFORTER
007 Diadem Anti
011 Tank Half Long Out
012 Torpedo Out
013 Hunter Out
014 Jewel Long
015 Melody Long

I don't know the people who make these rubbers, but it would be interesting to hear about the experiences with the ITTF, and how they managed to resolve it.
