I started jpen, and I still think it's the most beautiful style in all of TT. Single sided Jpen...even with all of its supposed disadvantages..Is so flipping cool. I tried to go back and play jpen for fun...and let me tell you, I could not land a thing!!!

Ps, I changed to shakehand to become a chopper. ;)

I tried J-pen 3 years ago, then stopped, i guess because my blade was too fast.

Now il made a J-pen myself, with a blade allround, with a J-pen style, one side backside, I worked backhand a lot and now it's ok and I love this style. farewell to shakehand after 20 years playing !

one question about J-pen grip : I put my 3 fingers curved, not straight as usual

is there anyone playing like this ?

I guess it's half C-pen half J-pen ?

Anything that suits u buddy, as long ur not injury prone on that kinda grip. I play shakehand mostly but casually my own hold is a bit messed up haha, I really love trying to emulate xu xin's backhand the most, that backhand flip is super showy.

Taiwanese player Chiang Peng Leung had curved fingers, helped his great backhand block.
