Jian Li is such a stud.

Cannot believe how efficient he is with his movements. I wonder how he stacks up vs. Wang QingLiang and Kewei Li. Kewei Li is generally regarded as the best chopper in the US, but Jian is so awesome.

BTW, WQL just beat Kewei in the South Teams contest, but generally loses to him.

That's what it was in May 2016 (posted in comments of his Westchester May final video on YouTube by the guy who filmed it). May be he changed since then, but I have no way of knowing.

Poster on another forum mentioned that he saw Jian's racket at the last tournament and it was OX LP (no mention of the brand). I guess sound does not lie - I updated the OP.

Again, I have not seen it myself. But - I know the guy who made 'OX comment' and tend to trust him. He could be wrong, of course, but at least he was at the match.

It looks like yesterday at Westchester he was playing with Butterfly Matsushita Pro Alpha, judging by design of the plastic insert in the handle.

Could not see the pips, but they looked like OX or very thin sponge. Sounded that way too. He made semifinal of the Open, but lost to Kai Zhang, I think. Not sure if there will be video.

Edit: I now think that it might be thin sponge - OX is typically quite transparent in red, but his was pretty much solid red.

Garbol, when you say it doesn't look like OX, do you mean visually looking at the racket? Or by the way ball is reacting to it?

Lifted from another forum (thanks, 'heavyspin'!) regarding Jian Li's equipment in Westchester September Open:

I got a sneak peak at Li Jian's racket. Hurricane one side, no sponge DHS with Chinese characters - couldn't make out what it was, sorry. Do they make special batches exclusive to Chinese pros?

Well, cloud and fog is DHS, so that much is probably true.

I checked Cloud and Fog I have - and it is indeed mostly Chinese characters, with English name placed in a small font a bit to the left. Could be that - we'll have to wait until video is posted, I was told commentator announces equipment of both players in semifinal.
