Hi BH. I work in central london so we should be able to fix up a game. Pm me the area you are staying in and I'll let you know about clubs.

No idea about the thai food I'm afraid but London's Chinatown was always worth a visit.

Epl tix are quite hard to come by these days, which club were you thinking of (if any in particular?)

I like Liverpool but that week I think they are on the road to ......Swansea, maybe.

Any team in London is fine(Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, West ham) just want to get the EPL experience.

You'll be unlikely to get Tottenham tickets for that weekend as it's a popular match in a small ground but West Ham v Middlesbrough tickets for 1st October should be easier to find. West Ham have moved to a much bigger ground this season (the former Olympic Stadium) and so they are discounting tickets heavily to shift them.

You can only buy tickets direct from the Club with a membership. That costs £40 so for one match you might think that's too high a cost. As a Chelsea fan I couldn't possibly recommend that anyone buys a West Ham membership but it could be that a membership plus ticket option is cheaper than paying a tout (especially if you don't have a local accent!). That assumes that 'Boro tickets aren't sold out yet but I suspect you can't find that out without contacting the club.

Alternative are to turn up on the day and pay a tout, or buy them on an online site. Looking quickly at online sites the cheapest tickets I can see are just under £100. They may get cheaper nearer the day I guess. Middlesbrough is not exactly an oversubscribed fixture! This is one: https://www.kixfootballtickets.com/team ... ham-united (I haven't used them so can't speak for them).

Finally you could get a friendly West Ham member to buy you a ticket. Sadly I don't know any. :(

I hope that helps.

There's a list of clubs at the bottom of the page with links with how to "officially" buy tickets.

Membership requirements were brought in as an attempt to either

a) control who tickets were sold to so as to avoid them falling in to the "wrong hands"
b) ensure that "loyal" regular fans got priority over tickets
c) to add an extra hidden cost to the price of watching football matches in the UK - when I was a teenager watching matches at Maine Road, you just turned up and paid, no membership required.

The experience of people on this thread may help you.

Never know buying tickets is so difficult.

7 more days to go!

What's the best 3 clubs to play in London?

Best in term of plenty of tables and lots of players, easy to get on the table - no sitting/waiting.
Don't care much about level.
Anyone here live in London?

I work in London.

Am mobile at the moment so can't get the links up but google the following;

Morpeth table tennis club.
Fusion ttc
Highbury table tennis club.

BH, if you PM me your availability I'll see if I can set up a session for us at my university or at Highbury, I know the coach there.

Another option, If you don't mind a train ride out of London there is a Sunday am session near me in Essex. I could get you from the station.

Will do. I don't really know my plan right now. Not vacation ...... Wife is invited to speak at a conference so she is the priority and my plan has to change if her plan changes.
