Welcome! Thanks for posting a video - this is great.

There's some good components already. You have nice reactions and a good feel for where the ball is coming.

The main challenge when chopping is to keep the ball fairly low over the net, and at all costs avoid the ball landing mid-length. The balls where your opponent smashed a winner were both.

The number one tip I'd give is to keep your hands and wrist completely relaxed. When you're tight and rigid you'll get much less spin, much less control, and much less feel.

Do you have access to a coach? Or other players with more advanced chopping game?

Try to keep pushes and chops as low as you can to make them more dangerous and more difficult to attack.
You should also look to reduce recovery times after serving and playing a stroke to get back in position, so you can play the next stroke without rushing as much.

Pushing is just as important, if not more important then chopping.
- a chopper who took way too long to learn that

The opponent's clearly over 1700, probably 1900-2000, he's playing about the same level.

Against this specific guy? Push at his backhand, chop to his forehand.

In general. When you chop don't chop the right side of the ball. If anything chop the left.
