Let me know what you think about Classic - I saw it recently on sale at TT11, but did not pull the trigger. Read somewhere that Classic is lighter, and might have balsa in it. Was not sure whether I need an even lighter blade - tried Barricade some time ago and found it too light and slow, especially far from the table.

ill let you know.the defplay is very good for blocking loops off the bounce with antispin if ever you fancied a try-juic neo in 2mm is recommended-its also decent for chopping.you may be able to get an old sheet on e bay

Last night's league was somewhat sparsely attended - Valentine's day will do that to even the most hardcore TT fans :) .

Went 3:2, which I thought was pretty positive, given the opposition. Was pretty aggressive on FH and I thought did make necessary adjustments when needed (in one match had to switch to close to the table play which paid off handsomely). Still lost to my favorite blocker, though - need to plug BH hole with twiddling, perhaps.

Also need to improve serves - too simple for higher level opposition.

Edit: Was checking stats for Baracuda vs. Bluefire M2. Interestingly enough, tabletennis11 product descriptions claim that Baracuda is faster :o So, I guess putting M2 on FH won't be a step up in speed...?

I don't know about that - what I Will say is that from my personal experience, Baracuda is much longer lasting as the boosting process is different.

I had M2 on my BH last year and switched to baracuda.
Spin was great, but I found it a 'gear' slower than M2.

Put Bluefire M2 (2mm) on my main setup, replacing old Baracuda in the same thickness. Played 2+ hours in the club:

* Feels faster and louder. Perhaps some glue effect is still there (used rubber cement)
* Quite spinny - well, Baracuda was ~year old and saw plenty of action.
* Didn't get to chop much, but few times I tried it was quite reasonable, so not a huge adjustment.
* Pushes were good
* For whatever reason made several twiddling mistakes (after the serve) - perhaps balance/feel is lightly off.

Yup, new M2 is definitely faster compared to old Baracuda. Got more chances to chop on FH and it worked pretty well. Will stick with it and see what happens.

On unrelated subject, going to revisit FH serves to add some variety.

Imho.. this was a step in the right direction.
I feel like the new ball sorta forces everyone to move to the latest gen tensors.

Was not 'feeling it' at the league tonight - ended up 1:4, or so. Don't think it's new FH rubber (although it probably contributed somewhat), just felt 'blah' overall, both physically and mentally.

One of those days, I guess...

Have played both Saturday and Sunday - did not lose a match on Sat and lost most of them on Sunday. To be expected though - have mostly played up on Sunday and Saturday is quite casual these days. FH was shaky today, too many misses on easy balls. I keep thinking that not going for a 'kill shot' would be much better, but somehow never followed on my own advice :?:

You won the U2000 at Westchester? Or didn't play it?

That's a good one :) No, I was referring to the club play - could not make it to Westchester this time, planning on going in March.

Bratchenko won Westchester. What do you know about him?
