Fixing technique is not easy for kids either, they just train more often and have ingrained fewer bad habits. Yes they find it easier to learn, but that is also a function of the responsibilities they bear in life.

In the end if he is not training 3 hours a day, WF will have to do things outside the TT playing room, even if only for 15 minutes a day that increase his chances of assimilating the changes.

It's no surprise that my most advanced students do something at home and the ones that do more tend to get more out of the coaching. The ones that do less are often as talented based on my interactions but being unable to do even the simplest stuff at home is not going to help you retain only 1 hour of coaching during the week.

Even less so with one box of balls every second week.

We've not been practising lately but we had a hit on the weekend. I've been watching some of WF's games in competition and felt like he's not been having a go. Not attack often enough and not committing when he does.

I've done the below video to firstly highlight how often he is missing the opportunity and what the difference between having a decent go and not looks like. Technique obviously not great but I think if he plays well for him, that will be good enough to improve and the better technique can come over time with confidence.

Note on Wednesday night, following this session he did play a lot more aggressive.

The good bit is at 3:53 to show the progress we've made and hopefully the moment the penny drops.

I like this approach in commenting the gameplay. Also, +1 for Greensleeves!
