Yes, I'd say Spinlord Agenda OX is one of the best OX rubbers for chopping away from the table. It makes it pretty effortless.

That might be true to some degree. On the other hand, chopping with it feels a real joy. It feels hmm... "jellylike" when soft pips bend and dampening sponge presses slowly.

Agenda 1.0 feels very controlled pip that "eats the spin and speed out of the ball". It has right speed and very good control on JSH, so it suits fast blades well.

I made comeback to Agenda 1.0 and it chops outstandingly with Spinlord Ultra Carbon def blade. It's clearly a chopping pip in 1.0 and control maybe the best I have experienced in chopping. Spin is good and sidespin chop is easy.

the way you guys speak about it, slow with control, makes me feel like it's a less grippy version of FL3 or P4. Is the sponge very dampening and soft like those rubbers?

I have always thought that the ultimate LP that is slightly less grippy than the P-1R topsheet, but with the extreme cushioning effect of FL3.

There are no LPs like that on the market. All of the butter soft sponged LPs like P4 and FL3 have the tradeoff of being very grippy. P-1r to me is slow enough, but a slightly slower version of itself, while keeping the same overall grip (or even less) would be an amazing rubber.

Yeah, something like that. :) It's not that slow, but it takes speed off the loops very well. :) If I have choose pip for safe chopping only, it would be aganda 1.0

I found Agenda ox to be a bit fast for my game. It's great for chopping away from the table but I'll stick with no.1 (0.6) which is slower and better for me at the table whilst still being quite good for chopping.

I'm sure the speed is fine for most. I've been using classic anti for decades which probably explains why I prefer slow LP’s.

Do you say "date chopping" because it's got no variation, behaving like OX? Or do you mean controlled and consistent, but still able vary the ball and force errors?

Agenda 1.0 is not like ox - my Sanwei Code 1.0 is more like ox. Agenda feels like the pips are bending a lot and the ball sinks to the soft sponge. I think the spin is good in chopping with Agenda. By control I mean that it is easy to replicate identical chops one after another, which are easier for opponent to deal. Other equipment like JSH+P1r 1.5 gives faster balls that are harder for you and for opponent to read.

I will have first matches on sunday against our first team and I will propably play with CWX+Agenda.

In Tur's matches with Agenda you can see how the pip behaves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ggEr_RvOls&t=

To be clear, I meant "Safe Chopping" not "Date". But it seems you understood that. I blame fat thumbs and a squirrely smartphone for that one.

Yes, I actually posted the vids of Tur in this thread earlier....I like his style.

I guess what I want to know is, do you get any variation from agenda with sponge? To me, "safe chopping" means you are going to send the same spin given back to you (no variation) and that your bat angle will need little adjustment to send back the same trajectory and control direction. I usually use the term safe chopping with regards to slippery (and often OX) pips.

Here is video from the sunday, we played against our 1. team. I am the blue shirted guy. Opponent is former (long time ago) top 25 player, but he is having injuries, so he couldn't really loop from the FH side...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1h29t5yUlHA

My equipment was Joola CWX blade, T05 on FH and Agenda 1.0 on BH.

I was quite happy with Agenda. I chopped more and played less at the table than with many other pips, as the Agenda 1.0 is a chopping pip. Serve returns were very good. Chops were consistent and good enough to prevent opponents from blasting through.

Overall my problem is lack of mobility, as I was forced often to chop to too close to table and in too high position for optimum trajectory. And in many balls I should have been more able to step around for FH attack.

You are a wall! Great security, you missed almost no chops or fishes  . Dont bother about optimum trajectory, that will not win you any points. If you need more time when they make drop shot to your BH, you should twiddle and push with inverted. Now you attack slowly with pips and force your opponent to attack again to your FH, and sometimes that caused you problems. If you push with inverted (or with pips) I think you will have a few extra 10ths of a second to get into positions.

I don't think you should have stepped around many more times, just a few. And when you were close to the table and just to make your opponent unsure what to expect. You win most points from consistency I think, and a few from slow spinny loops. If you loop from close to the table I am not sure that would have caused more problems to that specific opponent (but you know that better).

Thanks! :D I removed the badly played points, so I am not that good of a wall though... ;)

Sounds good advise.

You are right. What I meaned to say is that I wish would have the physique to step around more for effective FH attack.

Not many of us are in that shape, and when you start to step around more often that also is predicted by your opponent. One way to apporach it and to do it more frequently is to identify some patterns that leads to an opportunity to step around and then be prepared for it, and start the movement in advance. Like when you do a short serve to oppnents FH and then pushes or sweeps the ball fast and deep to opponents BH or body - that will most likely give you an opportunity to step around. There are of course many other patterns you can identify. And sometimes it won't go as expected and then you will be caught in the middle :-). This is the same way to start workning on twiddeling, to do it as a part of a specific pattern. Like after a push with pips deep to BH, and then be ready with inverted on BH to just kill it.
