Hello. Which of these rackets will be better for the beginner? To learn the correct technique.
Selection:
1. Butterfly KORBEL; fh: mark V 2.0mm , bh: mark V 2.0mm
2. Xiom Diva; fh: Dawei Inspirit Quattro Ultralight 1.8mm , bh: Palio CJ8000 Biotech 2-side loop 1.8mm
3. Sanwei M-8(6.9mm); fh: Palio HK1997 Biotech 2.2mm bh: Palio HK1997 Biotech 2.2mm
4. Neottec magic control; fh: andro trophy 1.8mm bh: andro trophy 1.8mm

I vote for 1 and 3. Either one, you'll need a coach to learn the correct techniques.

1 or 3 for me as well. If 1, Primorac might be a better choice than Korbel.

I would think that Mark V rubbers shouldn't be too fast for a beginner !

Korbel blade is an All-Wood 5-ply with Limba outer-ply. It is rated as just OFF.

Limba is a softer wood so there should be enough dwell on the MarkV attached to a Korbel blade.

Sanwei M-8 might be slower than Korbel possibly. But Butterfly Korbel blade will have much more consistent feel and quality!

Any beginner starting in TT will feel the equipment is too fast or uncontrollable. Its mainly due to not having enough training or practice.


My suggestion will be to stick to Korbel + MarkV on both sides!

As long as things don't get ridiculous, beginners can play with most setups, and get used to it. Not the same as saying they should go straight to Viscaria with Tenergy. The only one of the above that I have experience with is the M8, but I would put some other rubber on it, something like Musa.

When I was much younger (1970), I had been playing with a Butterfly C-04 equipped premade, when I came across a Stiga something-Bengston with Yasaka Mk. V. That felt like a rocket to me back then, and totally unuseable. I recently put some Mk. V on a Stiga All-round Classic, and it feels so slow now.

I don't know about the ball difference, but 1970 was the last time I played until last year. So experience not really a factor. It is very possible that Mk.V in 1970 was very different to the rubber today.

Out of the options, #3 is the best due to the low price. Pretty much any under $15 inverted on each side plus a blade that isn't extreme in defense or offense is fine.

Make the budget $50-70 and go at it. We all know you can go even cheaper...but spending a little extra on a blade that you will like isn't all bad.

Palio makes a better rubber than a mark V anyway. Mark V is the most overpriced low performing rubber on the market for me.

I vote for number 3. Good reliable stuff, good value.

OP states try already have the equipment so price not an issue. Given that the speed of M8 is measured to be as quick as the Korbel, not sure why you would pick that blade over a long term reliable favourite. Didn't mean M8 is no good, we just know Korbel is good.

I was going to say #1 as well. It's the most expensive of the setups, but it could carry you to well past 2000 USATT level and you'd never have to change setups ever again except to replace the rubbers when they die.

There is a 2100 level guy I met in NC that plays almost that exact setup, but has Sriver El on the backhand. He too left the sport for a long time after playing for his native country (Ethiopia) on the national team. I spoke to him because he was very allround, even chopped and retrieved quite a bit, but mostly he was an attacker at the table.
