Is it safe to say that most every good player that blocks with LP on the bh for most of their shots, uses balsa blades?

I seem to see only the fh attacker sorts use other blades, but they don't rely on the lp bh for points.

As an ox punch blocker, I had the most success with the Andro Fibercomp, which has a balsa core. I've recently moved to trying to be more of a chop blocker, and dropping back 3-5 feet from the table, so have liked using the faster, all-wood Clipper clone, with a .5 sponge on the pips.

Blade: XVT Balsa Carbon 10mm all
FH: Xiom Sigma Pro 2 2.0
BH: Globe 979 OX
I use a 10mm balsa blade.

I get extra kick on topspin shots and shock absorber effect on backspin shots.

Korean Achuma Brigade uses a Schlager Carbon with OX Grass DTechs... it doesn't define the world, but if you piss them off, they won't give you any food in the tourneys.

I have used balsa blades and balsa with carbon for blocking and pushing for 10 years plus.

When I was playing Long Pips, I was using a balsa or balsa ALC blade after the new (at that time) 40 mm ball was introduced. Before that I was using a medium fast all wood blade, the balsa was better for my game.

I used an assortment of long pips, though mostly Butterfly Feint Long II or Giant Dragon Giant Long. I even tried Butterfly Feint AG, but it didn't bother my opponents much at all, not really surprising to anyone.

After the 40+ balls were introduced, I tried a lot of different stuff from everywhere including Mega Block anti spin, 388 D-1, Crop Circles, Pogo, and Octopus; before moving on to Medium pips that I'm currently using.
