First off I’m a converted shake hand player to pen hold just feels more natural. I want use short pips on my fore hand and back hand. What I need help with is picking between all the new rubbers out there. It’s obviously been a few years. What I would be looking for is a quick attack close to the table rubber for my forehand. My back hand needs to be purely offensive but also close to the table. All info is appreciated as I will be making a good list. One rubber that I do have access to is friendship legend 105 anyone know anything about this product?

I've been playing around with Friendship/729 802 1.5mm for fun on my backhand for a little over a week off and on, and it's been a blast.

Great for close to the table blocking and quick bh flicks.. I'm also able to loop some backspin balls as long as my racket angle is correct. This thing actually chops like a dream once you get your angles down. Hitting through spin is a breeze as well, and at 8.99-9.99 a sheet you really can't beat it.

The Legend 105 with light green 1.9mm sponge is a modern SP and one of the best I've tested lately. Possibly the best SP for the money. When you're ready to upgrade, TSP Spinpips RED (at twice the price) will provide additional speed and spin as well as more sponge thickness options. Pair your 105 with a stiff 5- or 7-ply non-Balsa blade and you'll be good to go!

Legend 105 - good rubber. Quite soft. Lots of effect. I liked it. Nothing wrong with it - don't overthink - you have access to this, and it's cheap, and good. Just get it and get on with playing.
