I had a nice session yesterday. Got to warm up a very very good premier division player, young Turkish guy who used to play in the high leagues back home. He is kind of a modern defender with fantastic twiddling. He uses Nittaku Sake Defence with OX Pirhana and Tenergy 80. He is the one who gave me some advice now and then whenever he see's or plays with me. He has super good chop blocks and consistent chopping on BH although he twiddles a lot and loops/spins with BH too. His loops are really a lvl above every other player I have played with since I came back, comparable to top UK players.
It was a pleasure to warm up with him. He said my chops were much better and much more spin now, because of the spin reversal on the OX. He also likes OX and he recommended me his blade for OX which I did try and was amazed at what more the blade could do with the same stroke. He also tried my blade which he said was good but not as good as his with OX. Made me consider purchasing the blade in the future. Anyone had any experiences with this blade?

Then for the next 2 hours I practised with the young guy with glasses again, we done some different drills this time and had a good session. I was practising to twiddle which was surprisingly successful. The Dtecs are good for bumping backspin but I couldn't get a good low consistent push bump?(not sure what to call it lol). Twiddling is the way to go. I will try to practise this every session now.

I did film this practise and will edit it tomorrow perhaps and upload. I am really having a lot of fun now when I play and can feel the confidence to play matches now compared to before and not too worried about the lvl of the opponent.

A good premier division player asked to have a practise session with me on Saturday too as he needs better practise vs a chopper using pips, hopefully I can be good practise for him, I know its great for me and will try to record it too. I have played briefly with him before when I first started chopping but I was nowhere near good enough for him then, and when we played a match or met in top table he demolished me. I guess he can see the improvement in me now and feels I can be good practise for him.

Been looking today when I got the chance. It's €99 which is the same as the VKMO and JSH. Not bad. He didn't shave his blades head. It was quite heavy but he had Tenergy on there with 2.1 sponge. I'll definitely think about it and perhaps wait till the blade or pips have a sale or something.

oh man I would hate to play against this guy :headbang: but he makes TT look so fun. I don't really understand if he shaved the head or the newer version is smaller than the original now? My TT friend probably has the old one as he has been playing for many many years and the head is HUGE, much bigger than my VKM and JSH

Of course one can chop with it, but it's not meant as a chopping blade. more for blocking, pushing, and chop blocking at the table.

I believe its meant to simply pair up well with any OX long pips as for whatever reason it enhances the effect.
It felt like a really solid blade for OX.

But me personally I am happy with my equipment atm I now just want to play a lot of matches and find my identity and what I lean towards when I play. I will also film some matches to see how I win or lose.

ah man you're gonna make me buy it
I would also ask if I purchased an OX dtecs and an inverted rubber if he would glue them on before sending.
How would I be able to pass up this opportunity, especially seeing as my work asked me to do a bank shift tomorrow! Bank shift pay + weekend = :cash: :cash: :cash:

Ok so here's the video. Against the first guy I didn't make many mistakes, and actually there's a lot I cut out where he hits the net against the first proper chop or tries to push and nets it or off the table. My chopping was quite consistent I would say I failed (and by failed I mean too high so easy smash or miss the table/net it) around 20% of the time.
Against the 2nd guy which is at around 5.45 he is the Turkish guy who plays modern defence. He destroyed me most of the time tbh my fail rate shot up to about 50%
