At what point does wood grain showing through a thin OX sheet become a compliance issue?

That looks ok to me, highly doubtful anyone would object.

The Grain shows through on my Matador TX, nobody really seems to mind. Played a State tournament and none of the Ref's objected

Glad to hear it. I don't know if I could have transferred it successfully to a different blade. I hate gluing thin OX sheets.

I have, what I hope is a perfectly legal Dawei 388D-1 OX LP, glued to a Donic Defplay Senso V3 blade, and the wood-grain shows through the rubber, quite clearly. I've been playing with this setup, for over 3 months now, including a district level Inter-Club division tournament. No one has raised any objection.
