If it's "easy to buy in China" please post a link. You sure these aren't counterfeit? Sounds fishy.

No, this is real happening. But, am sure counterfeits are on the way too.

I could get some of the real ones, but so far been holding on buying more stuff recently.

I can only use BTY Viscaria Golden Limited Edition 85.3244356756 grams that's been swiped in between Zhang Jike's buttcheeks exactly 5 times. No more, no less.

I bought 80 of these just so I could find the perfect setup and even had one that was perfect but it became 85.35 grams after swiping in ZJK. That wasn't good enough.

What's the point, though? Are these really any better or is it just a gold colored label? Or might they cost LESS (since it's a Chinese-only model)? And if they're better, are they better than the "fishscale" Viscarien from ttnpp?

No one on AliExpress seems to have them anyhow - not China PP, Eacheng or XVT. Not even ttnpp.

What’s the point? Make money of course. Just like any other companies out there.

Yes I agree... and anything 'gold' seems to be a big attraction in the Asian countries, especially China... easy money for Butterfly!

BTY are copying Rolex's marketing strategy when it comes to selling a product that has not really changed for 15 years. The manufacturing has changed for companies to use technology which should lower the costs, instead the retail increases? What gets under my skin about BTY every 5 years or so their blades play completely different, people who played with the older viscaria do not like the new viscaria. How about BTY actually giving a damn for the people who bought their products 6-10 years ago and being consistent with the build quality, when you buy a new one its completely different. What's up with that, changing something that doesn't need to be changed. I won't be suprised if BTY release a limited edition old viscaria for x2 the cost of a new viscaria. Screw these guys.

Could also be the change in material as in wood (nature). Their SOP might be the same or even better if they keep improving, but the change in wood could be out of their control.

As such, given all factor the same, with time, aged/older wood would be different than younger ones so it's only natural.

My advice, if one already settled with his/her choice of blade, buy 2/3 more at the same time and request for adjacent or close to serial numbers. Or, better if can go to the shop and select personally 2/3 with same feel out of the shop stocks.

Come to think of it.. I've seen "black label" Viscarien and other Butterfly blades for sale on the "for sale" part of this forum. I asked what the difference was, can't remember what I was told. Apparently different labels have different "attaboy value", don't know if it actually means different playing properties. Then again, I've seen people complaining that "the new ones aren't like the old ones used to be".. it seems that people who use this blade are ultra-sensitive to equipment so the label color really does matter.
