Maybe this will help?

That helps a lot, thanks again for your patience. We have been told wrong by some folks over the last few weeks, which hasn't helped :(
So, based on this, if x and y had started the serve in the first game, and x decided to serve first (y chooses to receive for the other team)...then in game 2, Y chooses to serve first, so X would have to receive. If I have this down, I get it.

Would you mind asking that question again but keep x and y on the same team as in my example.

Sorry, let me correct that:
If x was the server at the start of game 2 (instead of y), would he serve to b?

In game 3 using your example:
If A is the server, then Y would be the receiver (at start of game).

Thank you

1. Yes correct - x to b or y to a.

2. Yes correct - as in game 1 back to a to y (or b could serve to x)

Hurray! In game 4, Y decides to serve first, so A would be the receiver?

In game 5, B decides to serve first, so X is the receiver.
In game 5, the sides have swiched as A is serving to Y, and the score is 5 to 0 (in favor of Team A/B).
At this point, Y becomes the server, and B becomes the receiver. When this occurs, the new server and reciever will only play one point, and then the server will change again (B will serve two serves X)?

Yes Y would serve to A in game 4 (same as game 2)

Yes B to X in game 5 (to start, same as game 3)

At 5-0 if A is serving to Y, they swap ends and receivers so A continues with the next serve to X. Then at 0-6 or 1-5 X serves to B.

Wanted to thank Dusty and everyone that contributed to my question. We were playing wrong, and it feels great to have doubles on the right track. Excelsior! :)

Just out of curiosity - are you still playing 21 point games? The folks at the office here bought a table for the lobby around 4 years ago (which was part of the reason I started playing again and discovered this forum and AliExpress) - as far as I know, they're STILL playing to 21 points!

Hi Iskandar. We are playing to 11. I have to say though, the interest is not what I’d like it to be. People
Want to hit around, then singles play, and then a little doubles, but most go home. I don’t know if they get tired after round robin play, or what? I believe some people just don’t think Doubles is important, but it is. I can’t be King of the Basement circuit, but I do have a shot at the doubles. Glad you are playing again, and it is great talking to you on here!
