That match was one of the best performances I've ever seen, part of it was pure magic. Sure I think Zhu could've made better tactical choices but still, Ito was unstoppable.

Powerslave seems to be about a egypt farao who have a little too high thoughts about himself, he consider himself a god and does not want to die. But that can of course be a metaphore...

Transformer was good but not as good as Reflection for aggressive pushing against backspin and also it was a little faster, more difficult do block hard loops. If it comes in 1,5 mm I may consider it. But I now have it on my Matador texa balsa, will try it there later.

I have been slightly injured in my left lower leg, the back side of it. Bur tonight i had anvery light session, mostly match play. I was a little fed up with my anti (especially at training) so I used a Stiga allround evolution blade with 1,5 mm DMS Power Pipes (MP) on it and my regular inverted on the other. Great fun! I was surprised how good my looping was with that blade. Hmm ... i will use my ordinary set up for the rest of the sesason (until April) but then perhaps I will have a real go with MP, this time with a slower blade than Carbonado 190 :). We’ll see...

I am waiting for a new sheet of MP Power Pipes, along with a new blade, Sauer & Tröger Black & White. Hopefully I will recieve it before the weekend so I can try the blade soon. But I have a new league gathering comming up this weekend so I won’t try anything new before that.

I might try the blade for my anti (Reflection) first. I am not planning to start using Power Pipes as my main BH rubber until earliest end of March when league and perhaps qualifications is over.

Weather or not I am going to try PP depends on in what league I will be playing next season. If we stay where we are I will peobably change to MP. If we move up one league I will stay with anti (but probably change to anslower blade). Perhaps try the new anti from der Materialspezialist, Scandal, as Amir is using for the moment :).

Oh... Yesterday a new ranking was released and for the first time I am among the top 1000 in Sweden :). This has been a goal for some time but last season did not go as expected due to ABS-ball and me not finding the right anti or blade for that ball. But since May last year I have had a very good record. Hopefully I can climb a few steps more...

Thanks.

There are about 7000 in the ranking system, where all players 12 years and older, men and women, are included. But some of the best 11 year old players has a higher ranking than me (although their rating points are not visable in the system, one can calculate them by looking how many points older players gained or lost when playing against a younger player).

There are 59555 USATT rated players currently - including international and inactive players, some of which haven't played tournaments for years but still are in the system.
To make it into the first 1000, one would have to have a rating of 2300+.

Percent-wise, in Sweden 7 people out of 1000 have a TT rating while in the US it's only 1.8 out of 1000.

I can see that Swdish player Viktor Brodd has an USATT rating of 2747, in Sweden his points are 2946 and his position is #8.
Kanak Jha is at 2732, he used to be around # 50 in Sweden some two years ago (today that would be 2700 rating points)
Anthony Tran has USATT 2728, today he is # 53 in Sweden, with 2697 points.

There might be a few more players with rating points in both systems. The problem with he swedish system is the inflation in rating points. Position 1000 today has 1820 rating points. Two years ago you only needed 1735 rating points for the same position. 4 years ago you needed 1655 for that position.

Today I tried my new Sauer & Tröger blade Black & White briefly with a well used Der Materialspezialist Reflection 1,5 mm on BH and Xiom Omega VII Euro on FH. FH was very nice and controlled but still enough power when I put some force behind the stroke.

This blade was not made for blocking with frictionless anti close to the table. Almost no spin reversal compared to my normal setup and the ball leaved the bat with a clearly higher throw.

Now I will now put my new sheet of MP Power Pipes on it, I think that will be a great match :). But it will take some time before I can evaluate more thoroughly. I will have to focus on my main setup the next weeks.

From the Power Pipes-thread:

I had a very brief hit with PP on B&W yesterday. My son is getting better and he can loop pretty ok but not near the power and spin of my normal opponnets... So I can’t really judge yet but it felt great! Enormous control on both sides. PP can do almost everything but loop. Pseudoloops can be done if you use a little more force in your stroke. Blocks were very safe, returning a flat slow no spin ball. I guess a more spinny loop would give a more wicked return :). I did not try pushing with this blade, that worked well with my Stiga allround. Perhaps bot as easy with this setup.

Eager to try more...
