I found some very cheap Huieson 3-Star 40mm ABS 2.8g Table Tennis Balls in ALI, 100 of them just for 15$ and I am thinking of ordering 100 just to be used in traning my daughters (just started TT) and with robot training. Do you have any experiense with these balls? Are they any good? or they are just plain garbage?

I am also thinking of buying Double Fish 3*** IITF aprooved 40mm balls for more advanced training with friends, 50balls for 18$. In RevSpin I read good reviews for them.

I got a tester pack with various 40+ training balls a while ago, and in that set the Huieson seemed to be the best of the bunch. Only two balls of each brand, so my test result is perhaps not statistically significant, but I'd say "go for it".

The DF *** balls are as good as any, IMHO. Not quite as hard as the Nittaku premiums, but then they last a bit longer. Also, you need a very good table (and skilled players) to notice any difference while playing. Those older celluloid balls beave slightly differently from the 40+ which are now commonly used in competition, so depending on how serious your "advanced training with friends" is and how much you intend to "polish" your skills, you may want to reconsider.

For me, at that price the DF pack would be a no-brainer. I am not so consistent anyway that the difference between 40 and 40+ balls makes a notable difference, and I guess I never will be.

Notice that they have chosen to name their ball "D40+" just like DHS.. whether or not this means they're OEMed at the same factory, or made of ABS, or whether this is yet another case of Chinese copycatism is anyone's guess..

I bet "copycatism" is the answer :D

I have used the Huieson D40+in training, and they're fine. There is another variant of the Huieson D40+ with all-black printing. I have been told the all-black-print ones are differently made and not as good as the pictured ones with the red and black print.

I hope I get a good "batch". Just order 100 of them for ~15euro. I will have them in about 2 months (chinese and greek post services are tooooo slow)

I got them just 2 days ago. They are with the red/black print stating "Train D40+ China" on them. About 1/6 of them are a bit "eggs". They play the same as the Donic Coach (Blue) balls https://www.donic.com/donic/en/balls/do ... -free?c=38 that cost ~4 times more. Good for the Tibhar RoboPro Junior robot and practice, no problems so far. For robot practice and for the 16$ (~15Euro) for 100 balls are a good purchase.

I had a bad experience with Hueison balls. No doubt they are good for the price but I found 25% of balls with oblong shapes. My butterfly amicus throws them at the weird trajectory. These balls are a tad bit lighter as well. Good for training balls but definitely not for the robots.

Currently, I use Sanwei 3w star balls. They are slightly costlier around $33/100 balls but of decent quality. Approx weight of each ball is ~3 to 3.1gm.
Are these the hueison that you received? Image
As I found out there are many many versions of these cheap balls, description from seller is not accurate and you might get very bad balls. I think I was a bit lucky on this.

A friend found these https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100pcs- ... 97862.html and ordered them. Quite cheap and very good for practice. $24.5 - 1$ (coupon) for 100 of them.

Yes looks similar: https://prnt.sc/n981y1

I bought them from XC Pro store on Aliexpress. I have purchased with the past did not have any issue with fakes. But this could be one off case.

The pricing for double fish trainers looks good. Please share the detailed feedback once you get those.
