Perhaps the lack of defensive game is the most impressive, considerimg he faced Truls and won by being offensive :)

Certainly one of my favorite players. He brings so many weapons to the table. I would love to play like this and I do try! I chop with inverted on both sides and am working on attacking more. Very fun.

In some way I think it shows how inefficient the play style is. Would he be a better player if he didn't chop at all? Maybe. I love watching him play though, I'm still thinking about trying double inverted again.

Yes, watching him play makes you wanna do that, me too :). And with the lesser spin of the ABS-ball it i s more easy - but still difficult as hell. And you also have to live with too many options every time a ball approaches you...

I think the best part of his game is the amount of spin he gets in every stroke. I have seen him play live several times and I'm always amazed at how insanely spinny his serves, chops, pushes, and loops are.

I agree with the idea that this is a difficult style to copy. I try and dont do it well. Im sure it would be easier to play straight defense or straight attack. There is a lot of variability and options and thats most likely not great for me. Hes more of an all round player, I guess and adapts his game to who hes playing?

I am so impressed by him. These are not easy opponents either. There are two matches on ittf tv, one where he is giving Jon Persson a lot of trouble. https://tv.ittf.com/video/persson-jon-a ... hi/1032177

Are there other players with this style? I really have never seen this double inverted defense before.

Ah, that's what was wrong. Didn't want to spend too much time on it.

Good match though :) He should have taken the first set!

Japanese.

He played for Spårvägen this past season. The club of J-O and Appelgren.

He's so entertaining to watch, I'm amazed by how can he make his mind with shot selection while maintaining a consistent style.

The reason I asked was they put "SWE" next to his name on the scoring display in the last video. I figured he'd moved...

I've practiced on the table next to him and what I noticed was his amazing footwork. Pulling off a lot of the strokes wouldn't be possible unless he was in the correct position all the time. It's also fascinating to see him BH loop and then BH chop and then BH loop again. It must drive the opponents crazy as you never know what he will send you your way.
