Has anyone used this rubber? Anyone know its characteristics and how it performs?

I tried it briefly. Sort of like Juic NeoAnti but a little better for offense. Can counter and chop well with it. Kind of heavy, too. A lot of aggressive anti players swear by it. I'm more of a blocker, so I prefer Butterfly Super Anti by far.

Greg Letts did a good review of it.

like a beginners thread for long pips or even equipment...

The first all time favourites would have too be either super anti or anti power! You really cant go wrong as it is very widely used by the "grey side" players. Ive delved into the super anti although classified as a classic rubber I can see why it is widely used, from this I can see why not the anti power is another great choice.

I'playing with long pips in my backhand for more than 15 years.
Somes weeks ago, I saw a very good belgian player playing with Anti Power and I had the feeling that he was playing the same kind of strokes that I play with my long pips. The main difference was that he was much more agressive with his antispin that I was with my long pips.

After that I decided to give a try to this Anti Power with 1.5mm sponge.

On the same blade, and same backside on my forehand, comparing with my Dornenglanz ox long pips, the first thing to note is that the bat feel different because of the 10gr more I and the 1.5mm extra thickness.
The Anti Power (AP) is a lot slower that the Dornenglanz ox (DG).

I tried the AP against some players a lot weaker than me, so I have to considere that I have to verify my conclusion against better player to be sure of it.

The most important improvement is that it is a lot easier to attack with the AP and that the bal returned is very difficult to play for the opponent. Most of the time he returned the ball in the net. They said to me that the ball was wobbling and slow down after the bounce, making that they touched the ball to late.

Regarding returning services and pushing, manage the opponent spin is not always easy coming from long pips. I would have to adjust my strokes.

Serving with AP is very easy and controlled. I can serve long flat speedy services deep in the backhand or forehand, or short balls just after the net, and I thing that it can be useful to mix this kind of serves with my usual serve very spiny with my backhand.
The serve is a lot easier with AP that with DG.

Passive blocking is easy and I can place the ball where I want. I can also smash short spiny loops.
I can't for the moment, but I know that it's also possible to shop block, but I will need more practice for that.

As I said, I need to verify this with better player, but I think that this Anti Power could fit my game and improve it because of the great abilities for attacking with very disturbing wobbling and sinking balls.

Here's a local league match that showing the advantages and disadvantages of playing with anti. Rob, player in black, uses Yasaka Anti-power.

Hi Everybody,

I found this video fascinating. I have been thinking about having a change for the summer but looking at this match I will stick with GrassDTecS.

I didn't think Robin was disruptive enough with his anti. I try to attack with my forehand more than him and to hit fast backhand pushes with my pips.

An excellent local league match though and very enjoyable.

Bulldog.

Last night i tried AP 2,0mm after playing last two weeks with neo anti 2,0 mm. Indeed a great rubber for attacking.

I liked the neo anti more.

AP has more speed but is less funky than neo anti if you play an all attacking game. More abillity to change spin. Neo anti is more difficult to play.

i have been given about 6 sheets of neo-they are old and dead-they just seem to kill the ball and it just drops over the net-i like the a/p for chopping-the neo is pretty cool though-can you do a backhand loop with it brokkie?

You can make your own spin (backspin and topspin) You have to make firm brushing contact with the ball. The AP i tried was not a new one. Maybe I'll buy a new one. With neo anti i was more able to take out the speed of the ball because it is slower. When i attacked with neo the opponent put them all into the net especially when he was not moving well.

i seem to remember that you really needed to move the arm to do a backhand loop.i couldnt chop very well with it and was using max.its good for killing serves though.a coach was doing these crazy serves to me-i just stuck the blade out and the ball died just over his side of the net-
im trying to pick up another sheet of a/p second hand-paid £15 for the last one.
