Hey everyone

I've gotten my hands on a M-6 a few weeks ago and I couldn't let go of it ever since. Imo its one of the best blades I've played ever played with. The M-6 is a clipper clone and indeed this is true when comparing it to the previous clippers from years ago. The current generation of clippers that Stiga churns out really suck, they are much thicker and stiffer than the old ones.

Quality

Without a doubt the Best Quality chinese brand, Galaxy has never disappointed when it comes to blade quality. The grains of the wood are quite consistent and even throughout the whole blade. The top ply of the M-6 is made from Koto which can be seen in a number of top blades from other brands. When comparing the top ply of the M-6 to a Stiga Offensive, visually they are identical in grains and finishing quality besides a slight difference in the shade of the wood.

I had the composition for the rest of the plies but they've escaped me at the time of writing. Never the less the plies were consistent in thickness all around the blade and also looked of great quality. I currently own 2 M-6's and both are very close to each other.

Feeling

The blade is a 7 ply which sure enough means that it has a stiffer feeling to it compared with a 5 ply variant. I myself prefer 7 plies as they seem more stable to me. The residual vibration in the blade is very nice, its not so much like a Allround CR that you hand throws a spasm on every impact or so less like a thick carbon monster. I would say it does replicate the feel of the clipper from before Stiga did a re haul of all their blades. slightly stiff with a medium feel is the best way to put it.

Speed

I wont go to in depth here as I don't believe the speed plays a critical role. Also its very subjective since it depends on what you play with. For instance if you've played with a Allround CR for years and suddenly switch to a Schlager Carbon, you'll think that you've gone insane and its the fastest thing on the planet. Also its the same for the reverse way around.

I myself only classify blades as either slow/medium/fast. This also depends on what my last few blades have been. I've been using a U4, Walder carbon senso in the last few months and I can say that this is every bit as fast as the waldner but retains a much better feel due to the absence of carbon.

Conclusion

This is a dark horse to me. Its fairly unknown but it's a excellent blade. I've tried literally almost 60 blades throughout my table tennis life with buddies and this would come in the all time top 5 in my books. For the price your paying for, its definitely a winner. It also looks gorgeous. Pictures don't do it justice as you have to see for yourself.

yeah, its true.

Stiga tends to modify their blades slightly every now and then. But we will never know about it. Ive seen the newest batch of clippers and they look shotty. much harder wood and alot thicker than before. The handle has also been considerably thinned down which makes it even worse.

bottom line = hunt for the old ones if you want their blades. Their new blades aren't as hot.

I really like Galaxy Yin-He blades, i have bought many in the past.

I was very pleased with all of them. Only issues were the handles of some of the blades, differ from another. Eg: T1 and the T2.


Also how does this compare with the Galaxy M5???

As I have mentioned before, there is some variation within the same blade too. I have had about 10-12 T-4's go through me and there are two quite distinct handle sizes in the flared handle. The biggest is very large and the smaller ones are probably about average.

Hey guys

Ive used quite a few Galaxy's myself. All of them varied a little bit, but not too much to cause any trouble. The only outliers are the T1 and T2. T1 is extremely thick but can be sanded down. T2 is extremely thin so nothing can be done.

I know that the U, K , M, W and S range all have roughly simliar handles. The T range varies with the T4 having the best one IMO. As for the other ones I'm not sure.

But overall great value for money and the playing performance is excellent.

Anyone know where, I can find a more complete detail descriptions

on the Yin-he blades?

Just saw this review and I agree, its a wonderful blade and I am thinking of adding two more to my collection, as back-ups. Its not super fast but its not slow either, has the power to put away a point and is a great looping blade. It also has great control and if your technique is good, is great for punch-blocks.

Its definitely one of my favourite blades.

PS: The pictures truly do not do it justice. I would not have bought it based on the pics alone. It was recommended to me and I am glad I listened.
